Nice staff. Great location. Hence 2 stars. My bad I didn't read menu properly and ordered fish special with chips, assuming salad. $34 most expensive piece of fish with chips I have ordered. Cause I whinged my hubby ordered me a $15 salad which was barely larger than a side ( we asked if salad i got was correct for $15 and was taken back to kitchen and put in a larger bowl in picture. Would recommend a sunset drink here but ridiculously overpriced food left foul taste in my mouth.

We stopped in for a drink, on our walk. The price of tap beer was high, the girl at the bar said it was around $9/$9.70 for a schooner of Great Northern! Bottled beer was $6.90! Doesn't make alot of sense.The food menu was really expensive too and didn't look like very big serves from the food we saw going past.The next day we ordered take away fish and chips to have at the beach watching the sunset and it was great! $12.90 for 2 pieces of hoki (little on the small side) with chips, lemon and tartar sauce, was really yummy. Will definitely be back for take away.Overall, it was a nice atmosphere and beautiful location to sit and have a drink and watch the traffic go by.

1770 Beach HotelMy partner and I came to eat here on a Wednesday lunch time. We ordered the Garlic 2 Cheese Pizza $8.50 and it was delicious! Perfect entree sized meal. I got the Chicken Schnitzel with Seafood Topper (3 prawns, 1 scallop, 4-5 ‘calamari’). My schnitzel was the worst. The chicken was about 1cm thickness and tasted like fish. The chicken is definitely deep fried, not pan fried. It’s definitely cooked in the same oil the seafood is cooked in as well. The ‘calamari’ is 100% cuttlefish, has no taste, it was a disappointing meal especially for $35.50. My partner had the nachos, he liked them and thought they were delicious but for $26.50 it wasn’t worth it and they didn’t have enough mince. To make things worse, our food took an hour to arrive, there were people who came in after us that had their food first.The atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly and the view is beautiful. I wish they would play better music though, we’re by the beach but we were listening to the 2000s depressing, love music. Please put more lively music on!I wouldn’t spend my money here, I would come for drinks to enjoy the ocean view but for food the Agnes Tavern has better food.

Bought 2 large coffees takeaway and a piece of carrot cake( $20.19!!!) . Cake was $8.50 thought it would be a nice size but it was a slither and the coffees very weak. I imagine if I had to ask for a double shot ( which a large should be) it would have been xtra. …came across the dear grumpy old man too!! Sorry but this is what reviews are for ☹️

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!The old man behind the bar was extremely grumpy and rude. We asked a question about the menu and received a really blunt reply then we were told that we had to order inside. Thankfully the lady inside was warm and friendly and greeted us with a smile. We mentioned how the man was quite grumpy and she laughed, like she had often heard this comment.My advice is don't work in hospitality if you can't smile at your customers. Not sure why that man was even working their, assuming he's the owner, but seriously do yourself a favour and hire some staff instead of being grumpy and rude to your customers.We ordered the fish and chips and unfortunately they were really really bad. The batter was so thick that there was hardly any fish inside. They also only provided one little packet of tartar sauce and made us pay extra for more packets. It's pretty disappointing that places like these located by the ocean who commonly sell fish and chips don't make their own sauce or at least provide a bigger tub of it instead of charging 50 cents for small sachets that are enough for one bite.The price point for what we ordered was also alot in comparison to other places with similar location.Definitely won't ever go back there again.

Went here for an early lunch with our two small dogs. The location is beautiful, and the service was good.However, the food was dismal. Sorry, I usually never give poor feedback, but the seafood catch was dreadful. Overlooking the water, I expected something fresh and amazing, but it was all cheap, manufactured seafood. Perhaps the fish fillet was real. Everything else tasted reconstituted and not nice.Perhaps this is a money saving thing but would not get my money again. Come for drinks only.

1. They didn’t have the state of origin on.. (they wanted to close at 8pm.. and ‘people come from the caravan park and watch the game and don’t drink’..)2. Too many rules signs… go here for this and go there for thatThat said, food was pretty good and location is amazing..

Most amazing little destination to sit, and sip a cocktail or 3 and watch the sunset. Such wonderful atmosphere and bar and wait staff are so friendly and welcoming. Not to mention the food being as delicious as always. Thank you for such enjoyable times. Will always return

Wow!! A beautiful venue with lovely staff who were so accommodating for my challenging allergies!!We arrived just before the kitchen opened and booked a table. We were seated water front and were welcomed as family, just as the sign says!The man serving on the bar was friendly and chatty. His partner, who helped me find an appropriate dish was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly and went out of her way to ensure I could safely eat. Her eldest, who was working in the kitchen made me laugh and it was a pleasure to see them working together.Overall a delightful experience and we cannot wait to go back!
