Very friendly staff, security guards are amazing too. I went 2 weeks ago there and I'm pregnant been having really bad vomiting and morning sickness and the staff were so supportive the lady at the front gave me the 1st priority to take quickly what's needed from me and she let me go straight away. Security guards were offering help by putting me first in line too. I waited for less than 2 minutes. So appreciate full and grateful for their help.

Security staff, reception & my one on one interview was excellent. I'm talking about Southport Centrelink. Their job is not easy dealing with mostly disgruntled people. Many thanks to Debbie, who had to wade through many papers to solve my concerned. Looking forward to my next visit.

Anytime I went to Centrelink in Southport, the staff were very supportive and pleasant except for today. I was abused by one of the customer service officers (the lady with short pink hair). I went to ask about my Medicare card but I didn't bring my ID with me. When I asked her questions she used agressive tone of voice and I felt she was attacking and bullying me. I also felt like she was scolding me for not bringing my ID. I was sitting there in shock, frozen and could not move. While I was still processing what was happening she told me to leave quickly and called the security guards. When she pushed the button under her desk I could clearly see the hatred on her face. To me it looked like she was gloating over her power to throw me out of the office. I am sure I wasn't the only one who experienced the same treatment from this officer. I strongly believe she is not suitable for her job, she doesn't have any customer service skills, she has no empathy for people. The people who are going to Centrelink, they are already struggling and are in hardship and they don't need any more pain and stress in their life. Coming from a Domestic Violence situation, because of that lady, my anxiety level went really high and I had a panic attack.

People who went to the check-in area later than I did was called first, which I found strange. I waited for about an hour. Okay, that was fine. BUT I didn't speak to any of the officers, instead the lady told me I can talk to another lady on the phone. They did, helped me my administrative task, but it felt bad to not be assisted by an actual person, as I looked around me other customers were assisted by an attending officer.

Medicare and Centrelink operate from this building. On Street parking is hard to get but there is a Paid Parking lot across the street. Large waiting area with comfy seats. Must Present yourself to Counter upon arrival to be seen. Not always able to rectify queries upon initial visit may require Booking Appointment to seek redress. Just a Government Department to frustrate the poor unfortunate folk.

What a nice experience visiting the Southport Centrelink office. Staff were friendly, courteous and respectful. Such a change from the centres I have visited in the last 2 years. Congratulations. Well done

Great customer service from the Southport Centre link staff members ..always helpful and able to answer and address my issues and very good at explaining the process ... thankyou heaps for the fast resolve this morning ..I didn't have an appointment but was seen and helped with a smile ..thank you Sandy ..Regards Michelle Thompson...huge thank you to Jade last Friday ..who helped sort out my centre link payments..And huge shout to the security guardsThanks to Centre link Southport for awesome help this morning sorting out my pay ..thank you Christine
