Had a lovely chat with Gail as I was checking out. Visited here to bring home some local surf swag for my groms back home. Wonderful collection of boards, skate and surf and kayaks. Makes me wish I had enough time here to take a run at some swell. Clearly, she's a legend in the sport and a bit of a pioneer in women's surfing. Thanks Gail!

The place is well stocked and so convenient for someone living in Brisbane. Nice old fashioned feel to the place and the staff are very helpful - the repair service also did an excellent job on my board. Unfortunately I cannot give anymore than 2 stars as I was verbally abused by Gail - albeit I was asking if I could purchase something shortly after close of business - nonetheless I don't believe this sort of behaviour is appropriate or should be tolerated in a retail setting in Australia.

Great shop, great atmosphere, wouldn't bother going anywhere else for surfing, skating and sailing gear. Gail is one in a million!

Gail is straight up rude. The way she talked to her staff was unacceptable. Not helpful at all. Won't listen to customers requests just talks over everyone. Maybe it's time to retire Gail. Can't leave zero stars otherwise I would.

The shop might be good and have great stock ... I now choose not to shop there due to the attitude of the women serving. Two times I have been in the shop. Twice now she has been inappropriate in her dealings with customers. I will not give the business a third try. If she is an employee ... she is out of line and should be sacked ( I notice there are other negative comments here directed at her); if she is an owner, she is still out of line and is doing her business a disservice. I am 52 years old and have NEVER seen such treatment of customers.

I have a mixed feeling here.The service I received from the young gentlemen today was great. He was still learning but still helped. Price was great too.However the way the owner treated her staff was appalling. It leaves me wondering if I would actually go back, or find another store. I’m all for value, great service etc. But treatment of staff is imperative. Those 2 poor kids trying to work in an environment like that, why?

Called to get some advice and a recommendation before buying online, as I couldn’t get to the store that day, but needed to sort out a birthday present. The lady (possibly the owner) that answered was so incredibly unhelpful and difficult to deal with that I ended up telling her I was just going to leave it. Then she got rude. I ended up calling another store afterwards, who quickly and easily provided exactly what I wanted, which wasn’t complicated, and I bought from them instead. She must lose this store a lot of money with her arrogant attitude to customers.

I can confirm that Gail is a very rude and inappropriate person. I was witness to her bullying myself and her staff.She keeps up a facade of respectability, but it’s just that, a facade.
