If you are expecting good food you may be disappointed, because it is EXCEPTIONAL 5 star quality in a relaxed environment! , excellent variety and high standard quality, value for quantity and customer focused service. Just having the entrees where fresh taste in every bite. The amount of food that came out represented care of presentation and value per person. Forget going into the city, this is a must visit regular dinning experience. Emily herself interacted with the clientele and even took the time to sit with us for ages and even had a drink, big highlight for us and our friends.We will be back personally and definitely bringing our corporate clients here for a superb experience.

My experience at the Emily Yeoh restaurant was absolutely incredible. The food was spectacular and I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of spice and kick to their meals along with very delicate flavours.

UPDATE:After posting the below review Emily called me herself and apologised for the miscommunication that happened with her staff. She then asked for an opportunity to make up for the error and said the event will happen if we would still be happy to have it at the restaurant. I was hesitant at first but my family and I decided to go ahead and take her up on her offer as the menu was customised for a special milestone birthday.Tonight, even with Emily out of the country her chefs, and her whole staff went beyond their means to make the night unforgettable. Excellent service and food was delicious and amazing.Traditional dishes were a great hit (dim sum, lobster yee mein, ginger steamed fish, custard bao). Modernised dishes were beautiful and had lots of flavour (cha siu puff pastry, pork Jowl cha siu). Seafood was fresh. The roast goose was succulent and melted in your mouth.Thank you Emily and staff for making it a wonderful night. Thank you for acknowledging the mistake, offering to make it right and then delivering on your promise.August 23:Unprofessional event management. The restaurant gave me 2 weeks notice in cancelling an event I had been talking to Emily, Sebastien, Ivan since February this year. Emily did not even call herself to cancel and apologize. Very disappointed as she promised to work with us to make a custom traditional meal for my mother in law's 60 th birthday.Communication was horrible. I had to call for months to get a reply to my queries. She booked a trip to Malaysia instead of keeping her booking. Was not told of the circumstance to at least understand the situation.Food when we ate there earlier in the year was okay. Was hoping the customised menu would be better.

Emily Yeoh is so very passionate about the food she prepares and serves she came to the table to hear our feedback. We were absolutely delighted with Chicken Skewers, Chicken Fried Rce, Beef Rib and Sechuan poached Chicken. All amazing fresh bursting flavors. Thank You Emily !

Nice Fusion MasterChef food with Strong Malaysian flavours. Regular menu change which is interesting but unpredictable for regulars. Friendly waiters. Nicely presented food which is tasty as well. Parking can be a problem during the daytime. Clean and well maintained. Nice deco and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

This place is amazing. Great food. I wish the noodles were consistent though (those really nice thick ones, similar to odon - not the overly thin or flat ones) or gave you the option to chose which noodle type you want, because there are at least 3 I’ve had.

WOW!!! I was lucky to finally try this place for the first time with friends & it was spectacular! The staff were so friendly & you could tell they were all having a good time & that just made the atmosphere of the restaurant! The service was prompt, food came out so quickly & it was absolutely delicious! Easy parking around the surrounding streets, public transport available with the City Glider 61 or any bus going through Paddington. Will be back & highly recommend!

Loved the duck curry and chicken dish, but not so much the lobster laksa. It was too greasy, not much flavours, and lobster was too fishy as it was not fully cooked. I was disappointed a little bit...

A foodie meetup calls for some fine food and MasterChef level eats fills the brief. I still don’t fully get why some places mandate larger groups to go on (much more expensive) banquet menus but thankfully this place has the option to pre-order from the normal menu, and so the 9 of us shared:* EFC! Emily’s Fried Chicken Wings (5), $12 - EY’s house batter & chilli dust* Salted egg yolk prawns, $18 - served with fried curry leaves & fresh chilli* EY mum's secret recipe Hainan chicken, $22 - gently poached boneless chicken served with soy, ginger shallot & fresh cucumber* Queensland Angus beef satay, $30 - Malaysian style satay beef cubes* Emily Yeoh's house roasted duck and lychee red curry, $35 - marinated duck, roasted then served with lychee and house made red curry sauce* stir fried Asian green, $18 - wok fried seasonal Asian greens* Emily's special combination fried rice, $25 - Emily's mix of char xiu pork, prawn, eggs & spring onion* Hainan chicken rice, $5 - Jasmine rice cooked in chicken stock, ginger, fresh pandan, butter & lemongrassWe had multiples of each item to ensure there was sufficient to go around. Despite arranging the pre-order in writing, there were some issues on the night. All up our meal worked out to just under $32 per head for the food component, and I reckon we had as good a spread (if not better) compared to the lowest priced banquet option at $55 per head.Speaking of the dishes, I was really keen on the Hainan chicken and the duck curry, but the dish I ended up liking the most was the satay. The Hainan chicken was good, but perhaps because I've had plenty of this elsewhere (including my wife's version) it wasn't outstanding. The duck curry did leave me wanting more, though more for the curry itself than the duck.I didn't watch the season of MasterChef Australia where Emily was a contestant, so wasn't all that familiar with her food. But the Malaysian connection was enough to draw me for a visit. Overall I enjoyed the flavour of all the food, and would be keen to return for a lunch laksa sometime.
