Does old fashioned customer service even exist anymore? It absolutely does! A live and well at ‘Gregory Jewellers Chatswood!’ To say we are happy or satisfied or over the moon would be seriously underestimating our feelings right now. Having literally had two engagement rings attempts with competing jewellers, we were left dissatisfied and underwhelmed by the lack of professionalism and attention to detail for such an important piece of fine jewellery that can hopefully be passed down from generation to generation. We met Chris Gregory in the Chatswood store by chance on a Saturday. He’s an expert in his field, a craftsman and most importantly a gentleman who really knows the true value of customers to his business. An approach not proposed by previous competitors, Chris suggested 4 stages – design by drawing, wax mould, gold setting without diamonds and then the finished product! With the opportunity to make tweaks at each stage along the way, we have a beautiful engagement ring which is a true representation of our vision. We’re ecstatic and have found our jeweller for life! Spoke to a few Authorised Dealers about getting a Panerai and ended up going with Alex here, her service was by far the best, none of the arrogance and pretentiousness a lot of other companies exude which normally puts me off from buying from them. She was sincere and helpful and not pushy which made the whole process a lot more comfortable and enjoyable! She even threw in 2 bottles of wine! As a Chatswood local it makes it even better to know your local dealer is a trustworthy, friendly and is genuinely here to help! I was after a particular watch of the highest quality and was so very well looked after by Any. Andy was very interested in what I wanted, my budget and my experience with the brand I was interested in. My partner and I was looking for an engagement ring of top quality with good value for money. And Gregory saved the day! We just purchased the most stunning piece of jewellery I've ever seen and held in person. We were also lucky enough to be assisted by Gregory's secret weapon, Jojo. Aside from her cool name, and unparalleled taste in jewellery, she's a superstar when it comes to making sure her clients are looked after. I don't know how she does it but she always hits the nail on the head in regards to pinpointing our preference. Also, with the product knowledge she's got, she never runs out of options to discuss and have that efficient and genuine conversations with customers. Jojo was of great assistance in helping me source a watch I was after directly from the manufacturer (as it wasn’t available in store at the time). I was leaving the country within a week and she was able to place the order and have the watch delivered to the store for pick-up in a couple of days. Now this is going to be a long review, because a) I am a writer & brevity isn't in my blood & b) because people are always quick to write scathing reviews, but less likely to write long, glowing ones.What a truly wonderful experience I had last Friday, at Gregory Jewellers in Chatswood.After 30 years of marriage, the time had finally arrived to choose my eternity ring. With all the excitement of a newlywed, searching for the ring of their dreams, I searched online for 'the' ring.I knew that I wanted a delicate pink Morganite, set in a rose gold band of diamonds. But the options were endless, & slightly overwhelming.A Google search on the day of my anniversary soon led me to the Gregory jewellers page, where I promptly fell in love with several different rings.But seeing something online isn't the same as trying it on. So I used the online chat feature to see if the rings I wanted to look at were available at their Chatswood store.Within half an hour of my online enquiry I received a text from JoJo Zhu, the Assistant Boutique Manager at Chatswood, informing me that although they only currently had one of the rings in stock she could arrange to have the others transferred there, plus any others I may wish to view.What followed were multiple email exchanges over the next two weeks, between JoJo and myself, with her promptly answering all of my many questions, updating me as each of the chosen rings had arrived, and even kindly sending me pictures of the rings on her hand so I could get an idea of the setting size.NOTHING was too much trouble. She was just so lovely that I couldn't wait to finally meet her in person, which happened last Friday.When my husband Shaun & I arrived on Friday afternoon, we were warmly welcomed into the store by the lovely JoJo, offered a seat and a drink, and presented with a velvet tray of the most beautiful rings, all brought in especially for ME, despite no guarantee of a sale. The attention we received from JoJo made me feel like an impending bride all over again. It was magical.What followed was almost of hour of me not only trying on the Morganite rings JoJo had sourced for me, but also her happily following me around the store letting me try on other styles & stones, just so I could be certain that the Morganite was really what I wanted.She gave me honest feedback on what suited my hand, discussed options for re-sizing, and even cleaned my engagement & wedding rings until they sparkled.And all of this with her still not knowing whether I was actually going to buy anything from her.But one ring captured my heart, and in a moment of true serendipity it was the only ring that didn't need to be re-sized. It was like it had been custom made...just for me <3Like an excited twenty-something (rather than the fifty-something I actually was!) I said to my husband & JoJo 'This is the one!' Ironically, it wasn't the cushion cut that I had originally enquired about but an oval one, and it was stunning.That beautiful ring now sits happily on my right hand and just like the days following the purchase of my engagement ring back in 1991, I CANNOT stop staring at it!My hand is a lot more lined & wrinkled than the hand that chose my diamond engagement ring all those years ago, but a good friend said that the lines represent all the adventures my hand has had over the past 30 years of a happy marriage; the nappies it has changed, the renovations it has helped with, the hugs it has given to my family & friends and my husband's hand it has firmly held, through good times and sad times.Sorry if this all sounds a bit gushy, but it really has been such a precious occasion for me, and I feel so very lucky & filled with gratitude.I want to say a HUGE thank you to the gorgeous JoJo (pictured below) for making the purchase of my much longed for eternity ring such a special moment.
