Discovery Parks - Mount Surprise
Even if for just the fact that this is named after my childhood favorite cartoon show, I give it 5 stars.But apart from that, this is a comfortable, clean and well appointed property with good management.Add a home cooked meal available to take to your cabin, and this ticked all of our boxes after a long day on the bikes.If you are in this part of the world and need somewhere to stay for the night or a longer stay, I highly recommend this village.

We didn't reserve in advance, we arrived and there was space. 70$ for 5 adults, 1 unpowered site. We were happy to finally be able to swim in a pool as the weather is hotter than in Central australia. The girl at reception was friendly and her dog Roy too. We used the kitchen area, many long tables and equipped with small fridge and small freezer, toaster and kettle. They have machines to do laundry. At night froid are wondering around. Be careful when you go to the toilet, flush before as frogs are everywhere.

Great place and owners couldn't be more helpful. Facilities are great and very clean. Tour of lava tubes etc. with a knowledge guide is a must DO. The lava tubes tour is a bit challenging climbing up and down boulders probably rates 6 out of 10 (we are 60 & 70) for difficulty but glad we did it.

Stayed in the cabins at the Park, very roomy compared to many other parks that have cabins, comfortable bed full sized fridge and very tidy. The park itself would be one of the best we have stayed in and make the best wood fired pizza we have ever had. Joe and Jo have done a fabulous job in building a great Park.

Discovery Parks - Mount Surprise
Pet friendly caravan park. Lovely shaded sites. Quiet & peaceful setting. Dog on short leash was welcomed around fire while Joe sang & told us some of his FAIRLYaccurate yarns. Very thankful to Jo for looking after Molly dog so I could do train & lava tours. Recommend this stay

Discovery Parks - Mount Surprise
Bedrock was a lovely flat and shaded park, we had 4 nights. We thought the park had a good vibe. All staff were friendly.Sites are big and drive through. We were down the back, the amenities were fantastic. Large communal kitchen and fire pit, great pool a bit chilly. Mini golf was free and fun (nothing flash but all good). Town has a playground and dump point.Washing machine only $3.We were there to experience pizza night :)We did the full day tour with our knowledgeable guide Robert, it was a good day out learning about the tubes we had no idea were there. There was no rush and everyone seemed to be wowed.

We had an excellent stay, the staff are very social & amenities are very clean & tidy, we are booked on tours, & they have pet sitting facilities, with very goodcare taken of our dog. (This is a real bonus) wood fired Pizzas! Great gift shop. We would highly recommend this park.

Discovery Parks - Mount Surprise
We are usually bush campers so when we need a van park we love it when it's a bit like freedom camping.We felt very welcomed and all staff are attentive and provide what we needed: peace, relaxed atmosphere, clean ablutions, reasonable fees and flat accessible sites. The trees provided respite from heat, and the setting was lovely. We enjoyed the 400 m walk to the ever running creek.Thanks for your wonderful hospitality. Hats off to the owners who got the development right. Thanks to the owner who settled us on our site, having arrived later than intended.

Fantastic!! Most sites were drive through with trees and hedges in between so shade and privacy. Adequate shower block and laundry. Great camp kitchen area with communial fire pit and pizza nights. The hosts and staff were so friendly helpful and boy do they work hard. The place has a great cosmical vibe. Organised tours to the larva tubes. 2 nights are perfect. Cafe serves home made food and cake. Would recommend this park but definitely book in advance.Well done bedrock!!

Loved the place under the previous owners. Not too sure about Discovery Parks as new owners.Level of service has deteriorate, no food options and shop closed.
