The Sir George
Lovely open garden atmosphere. Good for children with a playground and dining area where you can have dogs. Pies are good but a touch pricey and could do with a side of chips or salad to reflect the price. Meals typical of pub food but a little dear.

Like an oasis in a desert, this pub is such a treasure in the most unassuming of places. Beautiful building and grounds, great drinks and staff. The food however is absolutely off chops.Burger is unreal.Fish, increàb.Sugar loaf, I love you!But the let me say, I have literally never had better olive bread in my life. They have pulled off such a cool thing here, well done to them all. Please keep it going.

My husband and I came here for dinner a week ago while on our travels, as we always do when passing through. This is a beautiful historical pub with a lovely beer garden, and it is all very well maintained. The staff were also lovely.Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and my husband the Chicken Schnitzel. Both were very dry and over-cooked, the chips way too salty, and the garnish (I would not call it a salad) was just a couple of leaves and very bland. The prices were also exorbitantly high. The food quality seems to have gone down-hill and there used to be more choices on the menu. We were so disappointed that we will now be stopping at another town when we next drive through.

The best place to stop in between your Sydney : Melb road trip or take a long weekend and enjoy the area without having to leave. The Sir George has beautiful boutique, on site barn style accommodation, wake up to the smell of fresh bakery goods being served in the court yard. A well maintained garden, sit and unwind from your driving and let’s the kids roll down the green grassy hill whilst you add an extra night accommodation to your trip.Hang out under the misting spray on hot summer days. Sit in the courtyard with a drink, some lunch or dine inside in the old pub area that hasn’t changed in 100 years. Easy to spend a couple of hours here enjoying the Sir George hospitality.

Disappointing! We previously have dined at this hotel where the atmosphere, food and service had been a lovely day out yesterday not only was the food substandard but when asked about our meal and our negative response nothing happened, no apologies no let us fix this". We finished our meal by leaving and having desert and coffee at an ajacent reliable and delicious cafe."

If you're not been to the Sir George before you'll be amazed. The old hotel has been beautifully restored and the grounds are really extensive and very well maintained. The food is top notch. My family managed to try just about everything on the menu. It's was all delicious but for me the fish and the hamburger were standouts (the on site bakery makes the burger buns). Don't order the double cheese burger if you aren't hungry. Of the sides, the braised Sugarloaf, roast potatoes and beetroot salad were all lovely.

We’re a group of 6 who meet at the Sir George six monthly. Yesterday we ate inside, nice and warm. Each of us had something from the specials board. No complaints, flavoursome. The cake/donut/desert selection and flavours were tempting tasty treats that also satisfied

Wow oh wow the place is so vibrant and great. Best meals we have had outside Melbourne. The flathead was real quality not frozen fish. The mushroom Raghu was well textured and so tasty. We added a house salad of radicchio and green leaf and the dressing …. What was that dressing???? Oh and it was so warm and toasty in there on a chilly night camping,

Absolutely loved this gorgeous historical pub! The atmosphere, service and food was perfect. There is also a few shops in the building and either side to explore. Wonderful country vibes and the perfect Sunday trip from Canberra! We'll be back for sure.

We were delighted to return here after getting engaged in the grounds the previous week. Stayed overnight and had dinner. Rooms are beautifully appointed, the beds are heavenly. We were so touched by the efforts the staff went to to make the occasion; we had fresh hand picked flowers on our table, a handwritten card and a complimentary bottle of champagne.Dinner was delicious - perfect duck liver parfait; crispy lamb croquettes; with a gorgeous trout and steak for main. Perfectly cooked, tasty and generous portions. The staff were personable and chatty.Overall a beautiful stay that had us feeling spoiled and loved up!
