Spiky Bridge
It’s literally the coolest bridge we have seen and there is an amazing plaque here explaining when and how it was built, excellent bit of history! You can drive on the spiky bridge and go out the other side but would be best if you had a 4WD to do so, we couldn’t take our caravan across but we could park our 26ft caravan in the parking area just fine- just had to reverse out!“Jonique Life” If you find value in our reviews please consider following our social media outlets on Facebook and Instagram as we highlight magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

Great little spot to stop and stretch the legs! It’s a cool and very unique bridge that I believe is underrated! If you haven’t walked or driven over it, at least do it once to say you have ticked off the Spiky Bridge! Obviously it’s a 5 out of 5 stars from me! Can highly recommend!

What a surprise to swing off the highway to see this quirky bridge. What the convicts managed to build is astounding.

Spiky Bridge
An interesting stopping point to observe this quirky bridge that was built by convict labour. One of the theories behind the stone spikes on the edges of the bridge is that it was to protect passing cattle from falling off the edges. Whatever the reason it's worth a stop to read about the history of the area. Whilst in the area, stop off at the Spiky Beach Conservation Area. Spectacular views of the waters edge and Freycinet Peninsula.

It’s ok, it is what it is but definitely not a highlight. Only go if you have the time otherwise you won’t miss out on anything.
