Hang gliding center

I loved it so much and you will too. I went here with Rovers as part of the 2020 CBR Moot, and they had no problem organising all 20 of us who were hang gliding. We were taken up 4 at a time, and we got to see breathtaking views of the Wollongong coast while breathing the beautifully fresh sea air. We took off from a spot on the edge of a steep drop off, before sailing up and into the freedom of flight. We all got to control ourselves for a while, and spent around 20 minutes each soaring up and down the rich green hills. At the end of our flights we soared over to a nearby beach and landed softly on the Wollongong sand. We were then dropped back off to our launching point, and another 4 people went up. I'll definitely be back, and might get qualified to go solo. Definitely go, because you'll love it.

Brian is a fun, friendly and extremely professional pilot. His passion for the sport is shared enthusiastically. You could not pick a better pilot to learn with. Lizzie and I had the best time! Thanks Brian :)

BE WARNED - NO EMPATHY, POOR ORGANISATION AND BAD EXPERIENCE. I had a very bad experience with this agency & Tony. After numerous calls on the day with a booked appointment, tony was dodging my calls and finally after calling on a new number he picks up and makes the worst excuse of a reason why the day needs to be cancelled. Had to continue chasing up for a refund of which he cancelled on me and I'm still waiting on it. Also lacked any empathy and kept quoting the same lines and just hangs up after offering no solutions or alternatives.

I absolutely loved the experience!Extremely nice service, transport from and to the train station included and you get to fly! There really isn't any other method of flying that I've tried which makes you feel like a bird.Just go and try it, you know you want to!

My partner and I had a great experience with Dave over the Easter break. I'm not great with heights but was willing to give this a go as it was something my partner really enjoys. Dave really made me feel comfortable before we went up and steps you through everything during the flight. My partner got the thrill seeking experience she was looking for too! Well worth booking with these guys.

Can't recommend Brian and Byron Airwaves enough - definitely the best in town.

I really enjoyed my experience of handgliding with Brian! It was so much fun! And the views of beaches, lighthouse and the national park were breathtaking! He made take off and landing very smooth. Loved every minute of it!

Spion Kop is a Hang Glider and Paraglider Launch site. It has Awesome views over Fairhaven Beach, back to Aireys Inlet and Down to Apollo Bay. Well worth a visit if you are passing through to catch the views and watch the local pilots launching. Please remember to leave no trace and take any litter with you :-)

Had the most amazing time hanggliding, was definitely an experience I'll never forget, felt super safe while having the time of my life. Lisa and the team are absolute superstars, highly recommend for anyone looking to try something new out of their comfort zone, you'll love it! 10/10
