Swastik Blacktown is the best thing to have happened since the origin of Swastik Institute of dance in Harris Park! It's incredibly spacious and modern, teachers are a delight to be around as their passion is visible through their teachings in dance and it's a family away from home. Since joining Swastik back in 2014 I've made amazing life long friends and It's safe to say my life has completely transformed in the most positive way! Give it a go, you won't regret it!

Having returned to Kathak after a 15 year hiatus, I was pleasantly surprised at the calibre of teachers and expectation placed on each individual dancers. At start we are told that we are competing with 1 dancer only, ourselves. The teachers and Sumati Didi strive to ensure that we are the best versions of ourselves. I have learnt many nuances since I joining 1.5 years ago and I know I am a better dancer now than before. Performing for the first time last year after 15 years was getting out of my comfort zone and I am indebted to Sumati for gently but firmly pushing me. I had forgotten how being on stage makes me feel.I am very happy to be a part of this community and am here to stay.
