The Gold Coast Art School

I recently completed the Intermediate Course which really helped me understand more art techniques and am now moving into Open classes with Stephen. The Gold Coast Art School has helped me find my way back to doing art and doing it properly. It is a constant learning path, but with the knowledge and input that I get from Stephen, I feel my art will go a long way. I am so grateful for what this school has done for my artistic abilities and intend staying on for a long time to come. Thank you all!

I've really enjoyed my time here. I've spent yeears thinking about art and wanting to go to art school and there was always some excuse as to why I wasn't. Since starting with the beginner course I've learnt soo much. I feel confident in many areas, and I'm absolutely loving my final piece in the Intermediate course. I'll also continue with the open sessions. Natasha, my teacher, has been excellent. Her background and story has been really inspiring. The Gold Coast Art School is a very special place. Many of us use our time there as a break from the daily grind, letting our imaginations soar: we are encouraged to explore and grow as painters trialing many techniques finding our way round watercolour, oils, acrylics, pen and ink.. No matter which project we choose Stephen Buntrock, a wonderful artist in his own right is there to guide, support and teach sharing his huge range of knowledge in all mediums.

I did the 12 week beginners course and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff here are lovely and everyone is so willing to help and answer questions.The beginners course is very hands on, with a good amount of theory thrown in (lots on tone and colour!).I’ve enjoyed my time at the Gold Coast Art School immensely. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Beginner Foundation Course. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a complete beginner or to anyone who has a bit of art background but needs a little dusting off from putting art on hold for many years. From the basics of drawing, mixing colour, proportion, different painting techniques and so much more fitted into an easy 12 weeks course. The Beginner Foundation Course has given me all the foundations to be able to create quality artwork. I never thought that I would ever be able to paint a portrait by the end of this course and I did. I loved hanging out with and having interesting and fun conversations with like minded people who also have an interest in art and share our journeys together. My teachers Jason and Steven were kind, helpful, knowledgeable and supportive throughout the course. Jess was also great with keeping us updated and flexible with arrangements if we had to make up sessions due to unforeseen circumstances. There isn't any other art school on the Gold Coast like The Gold Coast Art School where the staff are experienced artists with broad knowledge in traditional and contemporary techniques.

I have so enjoyed the Beginner Course and learned so much! I was seeking a structured face-to-face environment where I could learn the skills and concepts to paint well and this has been absolutely perfect and great value. The team and teachers at GCAS are great, there's a fun, casual vibe and the time seems to fly at every class. Highly recommended.
