Alan's Unique Car Carriers Pty Ltd

I would like to share my experience using Alan’s Unique Car Carriers.Unfortunately I found damage done to the car a few days after delivery having overlooked it in the delivery inspection. I didn’t think to look closely in that particular area (above head height) and the light colour of the car combined with a light dusting, made it very difficult to spot initially. I probably also had too much confidence in them to look after the car – a big mistake.The defects were not noted in the pickup report and were very obviously caused by lifting the tailgate of the wagon up into the low roof the transport trailer. The damage was a dent under the window washer nozzle and some deep scratches on the paintwork. The car was accessed from the back because of the enclosed walls and had the driver exercised a bit more care and forethought this would not have happened.I have photos of the affected area showing it clearly undamaged before pick up and a photo taken of the car in the lowest part of the trailer, so I contacted the company to explain the situation only to receive a short sharp reply denying responsibility because I had signed the delivery docket. I understand that legally I may have no right to claim anything now but from a moral and customer care point of view I think this was extremely poor, especially as they say they transport ‘some of the world’s finest cars’. From my experience I don’t think their level of service is any different from the other carriers and I feel very let down by the company.If you care about your car I would not recommend using this carrier. If you do, please make sure you take the full half hour allocated for the drop off to look over the car thoroughly, even where you would not expect to find defects, because they could not care less about you after the delivery docket is signed even if it’s completely obvious that they caused the damage.
