Kampung Malay Restaurant
We have been here many times - but dinner last Friday was not up to Kampung Malay's normal standard. They had run out" of coconut rice by 7pm (did they not have any more rice and coconut milk to make some more?) The main courses were all quite salty. At 8.15pm we were told the restaurant was closing and we needed to leave. There were 2 other tables with large groups at them - so by 8.30 we were all standing outside as we were wanting to still catch up with our friends. A lot of lost potential business right there as over 20 customers were left standing around!"

Ordered sweet and sour pork with steam rice for my lunch, price is quite reasonable and the portion is normal and enough for lunch, taste good and the staff there were very friendly too, will try different things next time!

Good option for Malaysian food in MudgeerabaMy husband and I had a very pleasant Friday night dinner at this well-appointed restaurant. The food was tasty, but not really authentic - it was a little too sweet for my fussy Chinese-Malaysian palate. However the chef was very good about adding extra heat to the dishes we ordered and the staff were really nice about giving us extra chillies. The service was excellent and it was quite reasonably priced.

I ordered seafood mee goreny ( stir fried rice noodle), taste just normal, seafood taste was quite bland, no stir-fry wok taste( this is important element of asian stir fry noodle.

Great food. Service is always excellent. Only call out is went last night for Mothers Day. Booked early at 6. Main meals we wanted the Coconut Rice. Nope. Run out of coconut rice so plain old steamed rice it was. Their coconut rice is one of the best I have had hence the repeat visits. Need better planning for such a staple iten to run out. Also when asked Do you take all cards"? "Yes we do". Actually no you don't. After the card was rejected she then said we accept all cards except Amex. Maybe she could have said that originally. I will still keep coming to the restaurant. Food can't be beaten for local Thai."

I don’t normally review unless something’s really off. This place is exactly the same as it used to be at robina. The minute you arrive you’re told when they close and right on the dot the lights all go on , you are repeatedly pressed to order and told many times the kitchen is closing, and it’s made obvious they want you to leave. Couple that customer focussed approach with some food not arriving, waitress spilt full bottle of wine only being replaced when we pressed and then we were called rude for asking! We won’t ever be back and will tell our friends. If they haven’t learnt how to look after PAYING customers by now there’s no hope.Just saw owner response. Good to see the usual SOP seems to be argue and insult the client further.

I can not say enough great things about this restaurant. The food is amazing every time and they cater for my dietary requirements which is great! The staff are always lovely and the food is hot, fresh and soo tasty, very highly recommend!!
