Mary's Laksa - Parap Market

Ordered and paid $12 for what was supposed to be a special" Laksa. All I got was a bowl of cabbage and noodles! Could have done better at home for less!! Seems current markets trend is - pay more get less. Shrinkflation!! Just lost 25 years of local custom

The best laksa I've eaten anywhere in the world. A Saturday highlight of any time in Darwin. Great depth of flavour. Always a line, but worth the short wait. Always fresh. Incredible.

I never had laksa before in my life. Now I make it part of my Saturday ritual to go to Mary's stall.

Have heard lots about this place and it did not disappoint! Very reasonable price for a fair portion. My husband, daughter and I were all impressed and thought each of our Laksas were delicious.

Long lines, great stories to eavesdrop on. Everyone seems to know Mary by name. So many people so proud to be territorians. Good Laksa too!

Long line moved fairly quickly. Chicken and beef laksa was good but not exceptional. Lots of noodles, scant meat. Price was reasonable. There are a small number of seats but on our visit they were occupied by non-customers drinking coffee. Glad to have tried it once but won't rush back. Cash only.

Hands down the best laksa I’ve ever eaten. Whenever I do a trip up to the NT I never miss getting a veggie laksa from Mary’s. There are almost always long lines, but with good reason - the laksas are simply the best!

After all the hype we had to try Mary’s laksa. Mary is friendly to everyone and obviously works hard. We were disappointed with the laksa, however. Previous reviewer is right, lots of noodles, not much substance. The sauce is ok but have had far better. Generous portion and fair price

4.3 stars (Food only)Venue: not difficult to find in crowed Parap Village Market. Longest queue but moving fast. Have 2-3 tables nearby, can eat quickly there, or take away.Mary is very famous. Some people ask to take photos with her. She is nice. All staff move fast. Ordered in the front, the staff at the back prepared the laksa within 1-2 minutes. Then, Mary asked us if we liked adding chili sauce, onions and coriander, then cover with lid or plastic bag (if need).Did research before, so not for Laksa Special.Ordered Chicken & Prawn Laksa, $13. Everything is packed in a paper cup. We ate at home. That's about 10mins. Noddles were still good, not soggy. There are 2 noodles, egg noodles on the bottom. More rice noodles in it. Cabbage shred in the soup. One half-tofu puff, 3 prawns (imported, good size), and good portion of shredded chicken. Soup is pretty good in flavor, warm enough to eat immediately. VERY GOOD VALUE. --- 8.7/10
