Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions

The 3 day liveaboard trip on the Rodney Rox was an absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience. Firstly, the crew (Maddi, Dave, Wardy, Ash, Tim, Kelly, Kerri) were incredible. They were extremely knowledgeable, helpful, fun, positive, friendly, and made sure everyone had a great experince. Maddi even lent me her Gopro when mine was having issues, she is the best! They created a fun, friendly, and safe environment on the ship even when we experienced bad weather. The bad weather prevented us from cage diving one of the three days, but the crew were able to organize the sea lion snorkel and an island excursion for that day, which was equally as cool! They also made sure we got the maximum amount of diving on the other days as possible, even if that meant looking for a safe and sheltered area for a few hours instead of just giving up. Depsite missing a day, I still got four dives in the ocean floor and surfaces cage, and lots of shark sighting in! The sharks we saw were incredible, many came very close to the bottom and surface cages, and we probablly saw about 6-7 individuals across the trip.The bunks are small but still quite comfortable and clean, the food was good, there are lots of drink options available, the bathrooms were always clean. With five toilets and four showers for the shared bunks, there was never a wait to use one. One thing to note is depending on weather it can get quite rough, make sure to take lots of seasick tablets beforehand and regularly throughout the trip.This experience was amazing and I don’t have one negative thing to say about it. The crew was amazing, the shark diving and other wildlife encounters were amazing, and I cannot recommend this enough. Thank you so much for this experience Rodney Fox crew!!!

Came all the way from France to do the 4 days / 3 nights trip with Rodney Fox shark expeditions, and it was even better than I could have hoped.We saw many sharks ( early December ), dolphins swimming along the boat, swam with sea lions, the whole trip was just an experience I will never forget.The food on board was amazing ( and god knows I’m usually super picky ) and the crew was great ( special thanks to Gloria for her smile and good humor ).

I've literally just stepped off the 6 day 5 night shark/sealion charter on the vessel Rodney Fox and had to write this review straight away. As a marine scientist and underwater photographer/videographer being able to get up close and personal with not just one great white but over 5 in one dive was truely an unforgettable experience. The bottom cage is a must for photographers, the sharks cruise around your cage amongst the seagrass and bombies, occasionally coming in to inspect you and allowing for amazing photographs otherwise not possible from the surface cage alone. The vessel and crew are well adapted to allow for large underwater camera rigs, with designated assembly areas, ample viewing options from the cages, not to mention camera rinsing buckets and just an overall knowledge of getting you in the right place at the right time to get the shot you desire. I loved seeing the energy of the shark on the bottom when it looks up and decides to head to the surface in a matter of milliseconds.The vessel itself is comfortable with various sleeping options, multiple toilets and showers and a galley area for relaxing at the end of the day. I cannot commend the Skipper and crew highly enough for the level of expertise and professionalism when it came to the charter, knowledge sharing around the sharks and local environment.I'd say it was a once in a lifetime bucket list trip, but like other guests on board I will be back! Thankyou Bill, Shep, Siobhan, Gloria, Kris and chef Christie for an amazing trip!

I did a 5 night trip hosted by Andrew Fox 18th-23rd Oct. This was my 4th trip & yet again was absolutely amazing!! I only go in the surface cage which is a great place to watch the sharks in action. I know the other divers all loved the bottom cage as well. We saw 7 different great white sharks over the trip...as well as humpbacked whales, dolphins & sea lions.Karen the cook was ridiculously good & the food was always plentiful & a great choice. The rest of the crew led by Maddie were also a brilliant bunch who helped make the trip the success it was. Having Andrew on board makes it especially good as he has lots of stories & information to give you about Great Whites, Rodney Fox & everything they do & stand for.If you want to see great whites, then I would recommend doing one of these trips...you will not regret it!

We had an absolutely epic trip. So so so lucky with all the shark action we had. We have experienced far more than we could have ever wished for, a perfect way to see in the New Year. The sea floor cage was fun, Great White sharks circling us while we dangled from the boat, we especially enjoyed that part!! The crew were brilliant, thank you so much for your hard work, we really appreciated you all. We are most definitely going to rave about this trip for a very long time!

Far exceeded all expectations (which were very high). The food was incredible and every member of the crew was highly knowledgeable, professional and lovely. This is a bucket list experience that I would recommend to anybody who has even the slightest desire to see the incredible white sharks!!!

The crew on board the Rodney fox made this experience better than I could ever imagined. I’ve had this on my bucket list for years, and this trip blew my expectations by miles. I went out on the 3 night exhibition and had the opportunity to bottom dive in the cage 4 times, and endless opportunities to jump in the surface cage due to the boat only taking a certain amount of passengers to ensure everyone gets the most out of their experience. I seen many Great Whites that were constantly around the cages for viewing anytime. The chef and food was amazing, the rooms where comfortable and the crew are very accommodating. I can not recommend this enough!

We did Jan 6-9th with Rodney Fox expeditions and it blew away our expectations. The crew was amazing and made you very comfortable in the water, they did all they could to attract the sharks while taking great care to make sure the sharks were protected. Day 1 Imax showed up within the first half hour. We had at least 4 sharks per day the first 2 and 2 sharks the last day. The water was cold but the 7 mil suits made it very tolerable. We had the best sea conditions and visibility the crew had seen in a year during our 3 days.The crew deserves accolades for their work making sure we had an amazing time. Special shout out to Schep who went above and beyond at every step. He made sure you knew he was there to make sure you had an incredible experience.The sharks are beyond expectation. Well done.

Went diving with great whites and had a great time. The water was freezing in early October, and the sea’s were rough @ 3-5 foot swells @ times. The staff were awesome and so were my fellow divers! Definitely will go again!

There are few things that make the final cut on your bucket list - the experience I've had over the last few days with Rodney Fox do that. The team were amazing, the view of sharks was unique and all done with complete safety on mind. I loved this experience. ❤️
