Came here to look at the place where one of Australias notorious bush ranger once hid. Lookout is fascinating, had a picnic after overlooking the outback

Morgans Lookout
Very interesting stop, lots of fun exploring around the rocks and monoliths, newly refurbished steps up to the top of the biggest rock, 360° views for miles all around, has picnic tables and toilets available. Was interesting to read about the nasty character they were named after, Australia's most blood thirsty bush ranger Mad Dog Morgan

'Morgan's Lookout' is located via the Culcairn-Holbrook Road, and off into 'Walla Walla' NSW. It is an excellent place to divert off to, and look at one of Australia's most notorious Bushranger's History, dating back to the 1860's. Just take the 'Bumpy' dirt road off Walbundrie Road, take the stair climb (up the Granite outcrop!) and enjoy the beautiful 360 Degrees view of the area. Don't forget 'John McLean's Grave' is just a tad bit back up the road in Culcairn, NSW.Take a second visit every few years, as you will take in a lot more about the area than you may have taken in on your first trip! So go take a look, just watch your step, and enjoy the view!

Morgans Lookout
Off the beaten track now but in the days of horse drawn Cobb and Co carriages it was next to a major road. A quiet good gravel road from the road to the lookout. At the top of the 65 steps the viewing platform has information of what can be seen. An informative panel about Dan 'Mad Dog' Morgan near the vase of the stairs.

Worth the drive or short detour. Most of dirt road is 2WD friendly. Short part towards the end is a bit rougher and need to take caution. Lots of stairs. Definitely a challenge to those who mightn't be physically capable to do lots of stairs.

Enjoyed discovering a bushrangers hide out and lookout place. Didn't enjoy the huge spiders but luckily they kept to their side of the banister. Phew! But nice environment and easy to access.

Fun place for the kids to explore and have a picnic. Awesome 360-degree view of the farmlands that surround Morgan's lookout. There is plenty of parking and some park benches to put out a picnic or rest. But then again, there are some lovely flattish rocks around to lay out the good old picnic rug and enjoy a meal.I love the fact that since I last was here, they have bow installed toilets, which is great, especially with the little one.Great place to bring the kids, but it is not suitable for people with agility and mobility issues. Wheelchairs can get around a little on the dirt roads but could be a high risk around the boulders. But can definitely access the general area for a picturesque picnic outing.I love the history boards that are around the area, telling of the history. Walla Walla is around 7kms from Morgan's lookout, which on a weekend only really has a pub open.

Morgans Lookout
Beautiful place in the middle of field. Last 1.5 KM dirt road but 2WD friendly. Those rock formation created from an extinct volcano. There’s stairs to go top of the rocks and can enjoy beautiful scenery. Toilet facilities and seating in open areas available.
