Predatory parking inspectors and unreasonable council response. Literally had just parked at Sandringham beach car park, and very little signage in regards to ticket requirements. Could not clearly locate ticket machines and as a single parent needed time to organize my son for a few minutes. By the time I had reached the ticket machine we were already served a ticket. Officer knew they had done wrong but said they couldn't withdraw it and told us to appeal to council. Council rejected the appeal! $92 for taking just a few minutes to buy a parking ticket, ridiculous!

Be fined for 185 dollars by parking for 10 mins on Major street, Highett, for a home inspection. Since the street was parked full of cars so did not noticed there were forbidden signs. But now I recall that the chatting guys on the street were plainclothes officers, and they deliberately show no remind, just waiting the chance to adding the notice when I walked away. I admit that I was wrong to parking on the street. But in my opinion, the purpose of fines is to remind people to beware of their parking behavior, but not to earn money, right? So in this situation, the officer saw the car owner parking in the wrong place, is it to remind owner first would be more appropriate? If the offciers were trained to treat people like these doggy behavior, all the actions they do just to scratch money from other people's careless, unintentional behavior, then I think it would be good not to live in the areas where managed by the Bayside council.

A month ago I requested an updated rates notice as I’m refinancing my home (I hadn’t paid my previous rates on time so it displayed arrears, completely my fault that’s fine). However I replied to the email they sent with the original notice, explaining what I needed & never received it nor a response at all.I called the following week to be told a ‘reprint’ of notices would be done in 2 weeks then sent the following. Called 2 weeks later to check ‘oh no it’ll be done next week now’. I asked if there was anything they could do themself as I assumed it was quite an easy fix to just reissue the notice. Was told no. Called the next week, again told nothing they could do & there will be another delay. Explained I know it’s my fault I didn’t pay but this is the only thing my bank is waiting for & any help would be appreciated. Again nothing.Called again & finally a lady told me she could do it for me & send it by that afternoon (unfortunately didn’t happen). Called the next day & Tanya said it had already been reissued on the 25/11 & she would send a copy.Very frustrating knowing I’ve called several times for something that was already done a month ago but every person I spoke to didn’t care enough to even check. & if I hadn’t have kept calling would’ve been into the new year until I received, if at all.

Parked on Rouen st- near Haileybury Brighton school time during school holidays (school dismissed on 09/12/2022)Fines issued on 16/12/2022 at 3.50pm for 4 Hampton street traders cars. Review was unsuccessful. They are going by the gazetted school days- school days for private and public is different, school next to the street is on holiday.Frankston primary may be on a school day, but Haileybury dismissed week ago.Pathetic Bayside Council just want $$$$, nothing else. You guy are robots, need a little bit of common sense.

This council is disgusting. We were tech disadvantaged trying to use app for parking. Unsure how to pay for all day parking . We made sure we paid $20.57 plus ccard costs for parking which is the cost for all day parking and we were fined. We requested 2 reviews for our fine of $92 with both rejected. Only option is to go to court which costs considerably and is a waste of the courts time. THE council know this!!! It’s a shame we didn’t take photos of the poor condition the car park at Hampton Foreshore is in, with large potholes and a dangerous entrance and the potential damage it could have caused our vehicle. What a disgusting revenue making decision when no consideration is given to the honest person who made an honest error. I can only assume that the staff member making this decision simply does not care!

I parked in one of the council's paid parking areas where 2 parking machines on the stretch weren't working so I couldn't pay the for parking. However, council issues me a parking infringement without bothering to check their machines. When I submitted a review , with pictures, citing the non-working parking machines, I got a rude reply saying I should have gone around to see if anymore parking machines are working or should have downloaded an app to pay. Really ? No responsibility for non-working parking machines ?

Put in online request for public tree prune. Nick from Citywide here this afternoon. Explained what could be and could not be done and why, in terms understood by this layperson. Very informative, helpful and friendly. 14.2 neighbour had hard rubbish to be collected, that since put out, had turned into very large pile. Approx. 10am saw 2 guys collecting the hard rubbish asked if they would be able to take small lounge someone had dumped and they said yes. Fantastic! Wanted to thank them with a six pack but by time I'd got it and raced back out front they'd gone. So thank you guys, great job!

With the exception of the improvement to Sandringham Library, Bayside Council service has deteriorated. Rubbish (bins) not being emptied, fines for parking legally (bike on pavement) letters recommendation from MP ignored, money being wasted replacing perfectly fine kerbsides for no real reason and road closed partly or fully for weeks in Victoria Avenue. Road repair vans hazardly placed in Fernhill Road ignoring the 50m from junction no parking rule (thereby making exiting safely difficult). Too much irresponsibility of late.
