Cotswold Track - Mount Maroon Hike
No toilet or picnic facilities, no shelter at base or along track. Parking is ample but informal, gravel road to access. Track is steep and requires scrambing over rocks, marked by infrequent tringular markers. Useful information board at base. Excellent views from summit and along track.

Caves or summit. Both provide some of the best views of the area. The summit, 360 views! Grade 5 hikes and good navigation skills required. One of my favourite mountains.

Cotswold Track - Mount Maroon Hike
A gravel road into the trailhead, but easily done by 2wd. Not many vehicles spaces so may be tricky on a busy day. The track is steep and rocky but if you take your time entirely doable, looks worse than it is. I'm not keen on heights but this was fine, you skirt the worst. The views at the top of Mt Maroon over Mt Barney NP are fantastic. Take plenty of water. Took us about 2 1/2 up and 2hrs back taking lots of breaks.

Cotswold Track - Mount Maroon Hike
Great hike, stop at the halfway point for lunch then rocket to the top if you want to be leasurly. Maroon is a great hike for relatively fit people. Little bit of scramble a few relatively steep sections, all in all its a good way to get into nature get a great view and get your heart rate up.Also there were butterflies at the top.

Absolutely love Mount Maroon. Prepare yourself and go over prepared.Make sure you have an app with the trail on it. Start early as you can and have fun!!

Cotswold Track - Mount Maroon Hike
After the most difficult section, at about 90% of the way to the summit, you will reach a flat clearing with multiple pathways. This is where a basic sign or clue is needed to point climbers in the right direction to the top. Turn right at this flat clearing to reach the summit. The other paths are nice diversions if you have the time for them.

Cotswold Track - Mount Maroon Hike
What a great walk, the views of Mt Barney are spectacular and combine it with a 360deg panorama makes the steep climb well worth it. There are a couple of spots that a little tricky but nothing too difficult. There are a couple of options to walk to the other peaks that only add a few hundred metres to the walk and are just as good as the main peak.

Cotswold Track - Mount Maroon Hike
Very good challenging scramble with lots of excellent views from the two summits. Took us three hours return, but the signage suggests six. If you're not fit, use that as a guide. Don't set out after midday if you aren't experienced in steep hill climbs.
