Matilda Motor Inn

Not sure where the recent reviewers stayed, this place was fine. We manage parks and motels so our standards are high. We look at it from a guest point of view.Rooms were clean, meals were nice, staff were friendly.Only thing I would suggest is mattress topper on beds or new mattresses. Other then that it was a great stay. We thank youBiggest downfall, being rushed out door at 7:55 am. Came out for a morning coffee to find linen for room clean left on dirty table chair we been sitting in for 2 days.Not really time we wished to leave. Being we have been in industry for 8 yrs this is a first to happen and found it very uncomfortable way to end our stay.

When I got they they had hot aircon going which my room was Nice and warmGood parking because I had a trailerPlenty of place to get a feed

Unclean rooms, smelly and dusty.Table not wiped, sticky patches and dried up food bits, I wiped clean with my own wet wipes and they came up brown and very dirty! Same goes for coffee table. Crumbs around side and kitchen. Worst of all dirty toilet with urine drops on seat!!! Yes I was first of our group to use the toilet so it's from previous guests!

Atrocious experience with this accomodation. Having stayed here before and being regular guests without issue. We contacted the establishment well in advance booking four total rooms.On the date of booking, and after travelling five hours we attended the reception fatigued and ready to rest. Upon check-in we were met with confusion and told told that we booked the wrong dates. Having to revisit our emails, we confirmed that the dates were indeed correct, but were told by staff that a flight was cancelled and our rooms filled.This left us extremely disappointed, and without option. To the staffs credit, they offered a number of options but this did not outweigh the disservice they did by not honouring the initial reservation and filling rooms with other customers.Coincidentally a number of flights were cancelled, and near all of the local accomodations was at capacity. Leaving us without accomodation, despite explaining this, it fell on deaf ears and we were offered a free meal should we choose to stay there the following day when the flights resumed and the rooms were available and only on the proviso we stay the following night.Ultimately we were required to source emergency accomodation a significant distance out of town, that popped up last minute. In all, very disappointed in this motel not honouring their original reservation and instead inviting others at a time when accomodations was scarce.Would not recommend booking here, in the event the establishment decides to choose another customer (perhaps higher paying) over you.

Thank you we stay at the matilda 12 feduary 2023, after 4 hr drive, the room was clean perfect, and the hot shower just what we needed, the staff was great, it was a quick visit for a funeral but we will be back,

A lovely couple friendly and accomodating run the Matilda and all the staff friendly and professional. The restaurant very good with a variety of classic dishes and a relaxed yet stylish decor. The pool always a welcoming treat after a long day working in the heat and with plenty of parking, laundry facilities, bbq area wifi and foxtel it’s comfortable and clean and centrally located to shops and restaurants and train station and parks. The bed really comfy and all the mod cons like microwave, air con wardrobe and divine shower.

Rooms are big, with plenty of space. Very clean rooms, showers are great plenty of pressure and hot water. Pool looks inviting also.

I would rate higher if not for the constant smoking by guests outside rooms. There is no escape, the smoke enters your room. Please keep all smokers away from room entrance doors.

Excellent facilities. Very respectful staff with friendly attitude. The food was excellent.Convenient walk to city centre.
