The Block 20 @ Brighton

(Last week)I'm a bit confused. How can a room with several obvious failings (placement of toilet paper holder, placement of vanity too close to screen) receive a 10? It's a beautiful room, but the inconsistencies in judging bewilder me. This week, Jimmy & Tam were robbed. Maybe if they weren't such good humans & spent 4 hours helping their Macca guzzling neighbours ? At least they can sleep easy. Not sure if Luke & Jasmine will.

Dropped by to check out the Block 2020....great finished houses...love house 2 and 3.

Met with 2 couples Luke and jasmine and Jimmy and Tam. Luke top bloke but his wife was cold towards people. Didn't speak to anyone. Was inside entertaining the electrician. Jimmy and Tam on the other hand were the nicest people ever. Spoke to us and my kids and were very humble about the whole experience. Hope they win.

I was confused when watching the fist episodes of the Block as I thought it might have been a hybrid show of The Simpsons.Then on Sunday I was jolted back to reality as I suddenly realised it was The Shayna Blaze show.It seems that her opinion is the only correct one and the other two judges fall into line just to stop her from banging on. I will give it one more week but I really cannot see myself lasting the distance.

I'm a super huge fan of The Block and was so excited to have even just been in the vicinity in the early days. One day I hope to get on the show, but for now I'll have to just watch.I got to see some contestants, though they won't confirm it. They only say they may be" contestants.Also got to see Foreman Keith and others who are key Block crew. Can't wait for this to air on TV."

Great place to visit especially if you watch the block and know the story behind these houses. Really fun to seem them in flesh and have a sneak peek at the already completed front gardens.

I have to admit that Season 16 of The Block has lost its sparkle, although itcan be argued that the newly finished houses have plenty. Each season, it seems that the properties become more spectacular, more grandiose and much more expensive. It would also appear that the contestants are handing over the bulk of the hard, manual labour to a never-ending stream of chippies, tilers, sparkies, plumbers and landscape gardeners extraordinare, all at the behest of a quick search on a mobile phone app. Voila!The larger majority of these tradies seem to provide a wealth of ideas, experience, hard slog and don't forget the egos. Of course, the contestants have to shop, style, paint and clean, but it's become increasingly apparent that the bulk of the hard, manual labour has been delegated to the numerous tradies and that's a shame. I also have to wonder whether the 5 teams are seriously challenged as regards their vocabularies. Despite The Block screening in a prime time family viewing slot, all of the contestants have struggled to complete even one sentence without dropping the f-word....incessantly. One could only imagine how painful it must have been to edit out all of the expletives.I'm sure that Season 17 of The Block in 2021, will be much of the same, ensuring that all of the loyal Blockheads won't be left hanging on tenterhooks, wondering whether one of the couples would be disqualified after quietly sneaking off in the middle of the night to sleep in their own bed, or whether a particularlyloud female contestant was going to get into a whole lot of strife after calling one of the judges 'nothing but a ****** bogan from Wantirna, ' after said judge had been highly critical of the contestant's efforts at styling. We held our collective breath waiting for the fallout. It made for really good viewing.There were the usual spats between Keith and the affronted (male) contestants, and of course, we had to watch Dan the Man" flexing his foreman's muscles

Love the block .I am the real number one fan

Always a big fan of Scotty, Shelly & the team, however this season is bitter sweet for me to watch. Currently we are experiencing a saga of our own building additions for our backyard- a long & infuriating story, so I am at 2 minds if I can enjoy this season without becoming too depressed.
