Proserpine Hospital

I have a ongoing head condition for 11months now I have lost track of how many times I have been in there in pain with my head to sit her and be told it's a headache here some pills and go home now even that I have them all the time and they don't help. I choose Proserpine Hospital not only because I love to be left waiting in pain for long amounts of time.. But I do have to give it to 2 beautiful nurse at the hospital that do so well and I fell so sorry for themGreat work to them 2 nurses(Next time you’re having a health crisis and need a Hospital, risk it all and drive to Mackay mite get something done a bout it there)

I wouldn't wish a visit here on my worst enemy. Horrible wait times, condescending and disrespectful bed side manner. Its like they get a kick out of making patients suffer? I had to wait 5 hours before getting seen to and then sent home with no answers. I can only hope one day those doctors and nurses can understand how to be empathetic and at the very least, a decent person...

Thank you to the triage nurse and and drs who treated me so that I could catch my flight back home. Your emergency service wait time is so quick! Amazing work for school holiday time and a small facility.

I came in on Saturday, after I had bashed my head against a trees, but because of the fact that I have other issues, they kept me in for stroke!Anyway, right from the triage nurse, to the nurses and the Doctor, I have had the best outcome. Thank you to all of you for running such a tight ship , but still be so very kind. Treating every patient with respect.As for the lovely bedspreads on the beds, and the lovely wall hangings in the corridors, may I thank the group of Prosepine for those things, as they did remind me of laying under my own at home.Thank you once again.

The emergency department was incredible. Such lovely kind people who know how to get job done in a caring and efficient manner! Couldn't recommend highly enough!!

I suffered a dislocated and triple fractured ankle on Whitehaven beach. I came back by boat and as such was without pain relief for almost 5.5 hours. Here is what happened at Proserpine Hospital:- the paramedics treated my pain immediately, with care and empathy. They didn’t move me until my pain had eased slightly. They were kind and wonderful- the ED staff had to reset my leg. I was frightened they were going to do it like how you see on the movies. I’d endured so much pain and trauma already that I asked them to sedate me instead of laughing gas. They kindly agreed and patted me on the back of the arm telling me ‘It’s ok. We are going to look after you. You’re going to be ok’. I don’t remember a thing after that until I woke up for which I am so very grateful.- due to the pain I was bed-bound and so had to use a pan and even when they didn’t go to plan they were kind and caring- it took until 3am to get my pain completely under control (18 hours after the initial accident). The whole time they were kind, caring and understanding.I never once felt like ‘just a patient’ or ‘just a number’. I felt like one of their friends. Every single time I was treated for pain, or told what would happen next, it was done with compassion and full explanations so that I could feel as in control as possible under the circumstances.What touched me most was the amount of eye contact, genuine eye contact given me through the whole time I was under their care. From the paramedics to the doctors and nurses and even the tea ladies……everyone gave me the kind of eye contact that I’d expect from someone I know well. This eased the anxiety surrounding the accident more than I can ever say.Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to every single one of you that cared for me. I cannot ever thank you all enough. I look forward to seeing you all again. I intend on visiting to say thank you in person, when I’m back on my feet!!

Easily the best ER experience I’ve ever had. Nurse staff are extremely caring and genuine, and Dr Alexander McClymont went above and beyond in providing treatment, and making sure I got the care I needed. Would recommended to anyone / even my 90 year old nan.
