Gymassist - treadmill repairs

So I just rang and spoke to a technician… he helped me over the phone with my issue, didn’t charge!!! Very friendly will definitely come back again if I have any other issues!!! ☺️ Thanks again!!!

After 5 years of using my Nordic Track T23, it abruptly started to cause the circuit breaker to trip when you prime the machine to start so, I contacted Jack from Gym Assist who diagnosed the problem as the controller that needs replacing.Jack ordered the part and came down in a week and replaced the part without any issues. In 2 days, the new controller was gone again so I contacted Jack and he informed me that the motor now needs replacing so I ordered and put in a new motor myself since he couldn't be bothered to come in and do it himself although I paid him $350.00 for the initial service. Replacing the motor didn't fix anything so I re contacted Jack who is an absolute nightmare to deal with since he would never pick up his phone and when he does, his either too busy to talk or asks me to call him back in a few hours or that he will call me back which he doesn’t. His even asked me to email him although I’m on the phone with him already and then goes ahead and never replies to any of my emails. After 1 month of constantly calling and hassling him he finally confirmed a time and date and came down and after a second assessment, determined that the controller is gone again and that the new motor I put in was faulty upon arrival and also needs replacing which didn't make much sense since it was purchased Brand New from Icon fitness who are the original manufacturer.Received the new replacement controller and motor from Icon fitness for the treadmill and put the new (2nd) motor in myself again as Jack instructed but when it came time for the controller to be replaced again by Jack, Jack as always made life difficult by making 1 excuse after another so he can avoid coming down and putting in the part. After another month of constant calling and messaging , he randomly calls me one morning during the week while I’m at work and says He'll be there in 2 hours otherwise it will have to be some other time which would most likely mean another month so I left work and rushed to my house to meet him so he can fix the treadmill finally. After he put the parts in, he told me to screw the cover on and put cable tiers where the cables are since he had Golf to attend to as was evident from the golf kart he had at the back of his car.3 weeks later, the treadmill stopped working again. After 3 months of waiting and getting bounced around like a pin ball, I was back to square 1, circuit breaker tripping when you press start on the machine. Tried to contact Jack again and this time his not picking up my calls at all.So, I've come to the conclusion that either Jack doesn’t know what his doing or his installing used / non genuine cheap parts that keep becoming faulty.UpdateGot the treadmill fixed from a proper treadmill repair professional that the manufacturer recommended me since Jacks credibility is now zero for me and the treadmill is working like brand new now. Had to pay out an extra $450.00 on top of the $350.00 I paid Jack but it came to a point where I’d rather lose money then to deal with Jack and Gym Assist any more.

A few months back, my Livestrong 9.5T decided to lose all speed (competed a run completely fine day before). Found Gym Assist and sent enquiry. A week later, no reply, so I called. Made a booking with Jack, and communication was great at the start. Assessed the machine and advised it could be a couple things but thought it was the main circuit board. He said he would email local supplier to see if they have the part and would let me know. Paid $120 for his time.Heard nothing for 2 weeks. Followed up with some texts that were not responded to. Finally got a hold of him and I had to remind him of what it was he meant to be doing for me!! As he wracked his brain about it, he then said he called the supplier and that they didn't have the part - in other words, he put me in the too hard basket.So I was left with a treadmill not working properly and $120 down and I started the hunt for a replacement machine.Purchased and picked up a replacement treadmill recently and had to have a couple minor issues looked at due to transit in our trailer. I didn't use Jack, however, the person we did use also had a look at my old treadmill as well. HE FIXED IT - NO PARTS REQUIRED!!! As happy as I am, I am annoyed that Jack still has my $120 for doing Jack sh*t!!!Would not recommend!!!

Jack was amazing, called me, booked in a time and day and fixed my treadmill. His customer service was fantastic. Definitely would recommend Jack. Thanks so much.

i have had no issues dealing with Gym Assist, the owners have been extremely helpful when I've had issues and I highly recommend them.

they came to fix our treadmill and just looked at it from above and try to charge $80. we asked for a business card but the man laughed and started swearing because we told him we wouldn't pay him, there were children in the house at the time, so we told him to get out and he wouldn't stop swearing. they supposedly fixed our treadmill before and it isnt working. I would not recommend their business and they don't even know what they are doing.

Recently had my home gym upgraded with Gymassist.Found them to be very honest and down to earth.They didn't push at all to buy the most expensive as most others have tried to do with me in the past.They also got my treadmill going that no-one else has been able to do.Thanks heaps Gymassist

Had a full gym fit out. Great equipment & value for money. Staff are extremely helpful with deciding what equipment is best suited for the area. Very prompt with delivery. Would highly recommend this service.
