I like this park. Sorell Council have done quite a bit to it. Enjoyable family outting, walk the river, feed the ducks, have a BBQ on the facilities provided. Toilets and plenty of car parks. Just a short walk to KFC, Coles or McDonalds if you prefer to get your lunch there and come back and enjoy the park.

April 2022: Pioneer park was once situated on a quiet road away from the main highway thoroughfare of Sorell. Now sadly, the new (and hopefully soon to be old) bypass road removes any tranquility that this park once had. It is a popular space, however when visiting with an elderly friend, the huts and seating areas are far too far from the carpark. We ended up sitting in the car to eat out lunch as my elderly friend could not walk the distance to the park seats.

Safe place for kids to play, have lunch, fairly clean toilets. Take a easy stroll along the creek track.

Very helpful staff. I went recently with my mother who needed to bring her walker, they helped her to her seat, an amazing position considering she couldn't walk around or stand for long periods.I would have appreciated there being a sign on the door informing everyone when the doors would be opened.

The park itself was great, lovely playground, excellent undercover barbecue facilities.The toilets really spoiled the experience. Every toilet was blocked to overflowing with sewerage. When we rang the Sorell Council the girl was quite abrupt just saying we already know". No indication of when it would be fixed."

Very nice park with undercover and out in the open bench & table/s. Lots of toilets. Children's play area. However today was very cold. The seagulls try to join you but the magpie will try to keep them at bay.
