Totally over priced, the sites are super small and crowded. No privacy at all.The showers and toilets are disrespectful, all broken knobs so you can not use the water properly, in the middle you get called water.Not recommended and wouldn’t stay again.

Well equipped hostel with pool, volleyball court and good kitchen.Fresh place. Very big and a lot of things to do around the place with good collaborations with restaurants and so on. The location was very central as well.Very few power outlets in the room...

This is for sure the most worst hostel ever. Let's start you dont have wifi in your room. You only have bad wifi in the reception.The kitchen is disgusting, i never seen a kitchen this dirty. Not only dirty it is the kitchen is way to small for how many people staying in this hostel. You dont have enough plates knives, vorks, spoons and way more. Even the things you want to clean it with is so dirty. Because the kitchen is to small for this many people you cant cook sometimes because its always busy.The room is terrible you dont have any lockers to put your important stuff in. So that now the reason that people stolen my headphones other stuff.The room is always dirty, if they clean the room they done in 5 min and its not even clean. Our bathroom is leaking and they dont do something about it so the hole bathroom is wet all the time.you dont have charger point next to your bed only in one place in the room and thats at the other side of the room.The location is great people are nice. But is way overpriced for this quality. Not worth of my money! Every other backpacker calls this hostel the worst of all

Good kitchen, good space, but so badly stocked - barely any utensils. Huuuuuge compound. We stayed in two different rooms during our stay. The 8 bed one was really nice but the 6 bed one was further away and had no wifi. Super friendly and helpful staff though!

Just not worth the money AT ALL.Only good thing is location but also just not worth it.45$ for the tiniest site, so crowded, no privacy.. the toilets and showers have broken handles .. all in all not a good experienceWouldn’t come again

Honestly I'm an easy going guy. Ex-fifo so I'm used to sketchy accommodation but this one takes the cake.Obviously this is a backpackers hostel so I wasn't expecting much but even I was underwhelmed. I'm not a backpacker and didn't want to fuss with a shared bathroom, been there and done that, so I booked a private room with an ensuite. The ensuite had a spa/shower, so you shower in the spa but this ensuite was beyond a joke. Firstly, the shower hot water tap was non operational and I couldn't be bothered getting my tools to fix their problem. Secondly, after the shower didn't work I resigned myself to taking a bath in the rooms spa bath only to find the bath plug provided was a size larger and was impossible to hold water.Honestly, I don't know if management or the staff are to blame for the lack of professionalism in their facility. But for an extra $50 I could have gotten a proper hotel room. I'd recommend all to do the same.Can't speak about the joint rooms given I booked a private room, never again.The pool and facilities look nice plus it has a great location, just a shame it's not maintained.

Amazing hostel! Great location, close to the main road. They have a nice bar with cool activities. Rooms are clean, and the property feels like a resort.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and simple, with a decent kitchen, common areas, and pools. The AC is always pumping (which is what you want when you're in humid, tropical QLD!). Heaps of parking are available and the hostel is located in the town centre. Some parts are a bit run-down, but otherwise it's a solid spot.

I stayed in Base for 4 nights, payed 80$ a night to sleep with cockroaches, spider nest above my bed, water dripping through the roof (when raining) and no lock on the shower door. I have been traveling for 3 months now and never seen such a discusting place. When i adressed the cockroach problem to the reception they said they would send someone to fix it, but it never happened. When i came there the next day to complain they just did not care and gave me the bugspray to do it myself. All that for 80$ a night. Also i see the owner react to some complains (but mostly the good reviews, probably self written) and saying that you should go to the reception if you see some issues, but i did that every day and nothing happened so… Story short: DON’T GO HERE!!
