Fabulous, caring classes especially those hosted by Larissa. A great blend of yoga and meditation-relaxation.

The classes were very good ... don't get me wrong ... the two stars are for a particular experience in the last class held by one Swami Gopal. I was surprised at the way he mocked people who come for free classes and don't understand instructions or don't end up enrolling in paid classes later. Also mocking Indian families who come with kids for free classes. And I thought Yoga is an INDIAN traditional practice and the mentors in the institution are of Indian origin too. All this happened at the end of a paid session that I recently attended. If they have so much trouble with free classes maybe they should add a clause that people who take free class must enrol for paid class or whatever. I had delightful experiences in all the other classes I attended by other instructors.

I thought I would try a new studio & was excited for my 6.15 class. As per the website I turned up 10-15min earlier to register. The door was locked so I rang the door bell only to be greeted by a pretty unfriendly staff member whose mobile phone conversation I'd interupted. No hello just a stare, when I asked if I could come in for the class I was met with yes

I have been a long time student at Yoga in Daily Life at Richmond. Gita is an amazingly intuitive teacher who seems to know exactly what her students need. I recently attended the Yoga in Daily Life Easter Yoga Retreat at Hepburn Springs. Such a wonderfully inclusive experience. A full yoga program and delicious vegetarian meals, lots of time for self care (hammam and massage) and fireside chats with fellow retreaters, all on site in a fabulous venue at Continental House. Highly recommend. I'm going again next year for sure :)

I have been attending YIDL over the past 4 years-it seems much longer as this community has become such an important part of my life. I initially attended their classes as my partner went there, and I quickly became impressed by their authentic and holistic approach to yoga. I regularly participate in their Satsangs, retreats workshops and study groups. They are directly connected with the strong yoga heritage in India and offer short courses and seminars by visiting Swamis and spiritual leaders. I have enjoyed classes lead by all of their teachers, but value greatly the guidance and leadership provided by Swami Gopalpuri and Gita. They are both inspirational and provide a community focused on exploring and putting into practice the yogic principles! It was such an important development for me when I discovered YIDL!

I started yoga eight years ago with Gita and Gopal and have rarely missed a weeks yoga since. Their guidance is clear, safe and varied which allows one to stretch to ones limits or to back off if necessary. I have been blessed with good health but even that has improved with yoga. The transition to zoom classes during the last 12 months was seemless and very much valued. It has always felt an authentic experience. It is good for golf too.

I went to my first yoga class as a pregnant woman looking for some relief from her escalating lower back pain. But I gained so much more than the magic relief from back ache. I gained a community of like-minded people. Yoga in Daily Life is not just another yoga-disguided-as-fitness" franchise that are popping up everywhere. (Though if you want to use it for fitness

I was a student of Swami Gopal for over a year. I've gone to a lot of yoga schools, but nothing compares to Yoga in Daily Life. What I really like about YIDL is the detailed guidance, openness to experiment during class and the no fuss approach (a lot of yoga studios are too focused on the looks of yoga rather than the core principles).Gopal is a really great and patient teacher. He'll adapt his class to suit the needs of his students and provides lots of variations to suit your skill / state during that class. Whilst he's patient, he also knows how to push you to develop - I went from a beginner to doing head stands in a matter of months.I've since moved countries and I no longer go here, but I do miss it sorely. If you're lucky to be close to the Richmond studio, I recommend you go check it out.
