Ballina Fishermen's Co-Op

Had some whiting, chips and oysters which were all lovely. They had a nice selection of fresh seafood and offer cleaning if you buy a whole fish. They have an interesting assortment of fishing memorabilia from the area as well.

Worse fish and chips I have ever had. My fish was raw batter burnt. They replaced my fish second one was just as bad .

As a fish'n chip connoisseur, I would just like to give a shout out to these guys... best calamari, prawn cutlets, pacific oysters and chips this side of the border so far.... super quick service too... *disclaimer* we didn't order fish, but it did look delicious & fresh.

Went here for Good Friday, fish cocktails were small and overcooked same with the prawns. Chips were undercooked not nice at all

We did a phone order and clearly said we wanted two seperate orders. Also told them twice to make sure there was lemon in there. When we picked up our order they had put our two orders together, there was no lemon and the fish my sister ordered was tiny and overpriced. She had ordered 2x fish and chips. They put all our chips together and when we asked what they had done, they said they had put our large and small chips together? What? We ordered a large chips and 2x fish and chips. Why did we get 1 large and 1 small? The calamari was average as well as the chips. Not happy at all and will not be going back.

Best feed of fish and chips we have had in a long time. The young fella behind the counter was great and pulled out 4 small pieces of flake for us and weighted and crumbed them. Melt in your mouth. Great chips and crumbed prawns. Cooked just right. Yum

Driving past on a road trip and this was the best stop off we could have made!! Brought amazing fresh fish and oysters for dinner and couldn’t resist the crumbed prawn cutlets and calamari melted in our mouths! Please set up shop on the Central Coast! Highly recommend!

Not 100% happy. We spent the day in Ballina coming down from the GC.We did a phone order then went picked up. We thought that being a co-op the taste, quality and flavour would b top notch.Our food was Luke warm, chips were dry, our calamari was dry and cold. Plus they left out an order of chips.Not happy at all. Wouldn't recommend. Sorry.

If i could rate zero i would. Ordered fish bites chiko & spring roll small chips. Asked about fish oh no idea have to ask this guy. She asked him yes they had it. But that's as far as it went. The lady serving us must have been new my sister went to pay but I payed she rolled her eyes as if it was a hassle. She had a lady standing beside her she knew we wanted fish also as she's the one that asked the guy if they had it. I told the new " lady we also wanted 3 pieces of fish crumbed. Yep fix that up when it's ready she said. The lady standing beside the new lady went out to where the fish was displayed looked shrugged her shoulders and went back and stood behind the counters. So we ended up with the fish bites chiko & spring roll chips were half a serve I ordered small no fish. My sister said to me no one has told the guy about the fish still waiting a guy said are you right I said we are waiting on the fish we asked about when we first ordered. He stood there also. NO COMMUNICATION. I said we asked for fish when we ordered this and passed it back to him to keep warm really it wasn't our fault it should have been re cooked. We waited a good 10 minutes. He then went and asked a guy which then asked us what we wanted 3 staff later one hopless new lady another lady and a guy. Our fish was filleted then cooked he was a nice man. Such discusting service I've ever had here. I phoned up to complain you could clearly hear she was laughing & smirking oh next time you come in I hope you get better service. I WONT BE BACK. I will take my business elsewhere. Remember im a paying customer i pay your wage. Another lady also had an issue with her order she said it's not good enough and I think that order was 1 potato scallop. I counted 8 staff members. That eye rolling lady touching her hair should be thankful she has a job she clearly didn't like it eye rolling customers that's rude. Honestly how many people does it take to get a bloody order right ? Since when do you take half an order and 3 staff not say anything to a guy that we are wanting fish they honestly all just stood around bloody hopeless. My sister has been vomiting last night and I feel squirmish myself. The so called first order was luke warm. Do yourself a favour and stay clear of this place to much of a hassle & stuff around."
