It was a little late in the day. My friend was resting. The staff were lovely and helpful

The facility that my parents reside in here is very often understaffed ( for the past 16 months) and certainly there is no daily, uplifting active lifestyle program to speak of. The limited activities on offer are infrequent at best and are unsuitable for many of the residents who need contact and a sense of community.The few regular staff try to look after the residents but without a positive lifestyle daily program, it really feels like a place to sit quietly and spend your last months and years alone in your room.The website speaks of a cafe ( it’s never open as it’s been over a year without anyone to work there) and there is certainly no onsite gym!The residents have complained about the food for months and despite there being a small improvement of late it is not at the standard it should be for the huge fees the residents are paying. I wouldn’t ever recommend a family member to consider this as a place for their loved one until there is a very significant change to the quality of care that vulnerable and much loved people deserve. I worry that as they have recently increased the number of residents, things will only become more challenging. The residents deserve better and the committed staff deserve better too. Better training for them and greater support from the owners of the facility. There’s a lot of talk about improvements with very little action and most importantly, it feels like a sad place to live and work. Overall, it’s an expensive place for the residents to live in and they are certainly not receiving the care and lifestyle that they are paying for. Until there are significant improvements, I am telling my friends to look elsewhere for a home for their loved ones.

Luxurious facility, only 2 years old, large spacious well appointed rooms with unrivalled views over untouched bushland. Beautifully designed interiors. Really stunning and the staff are devoted and sincerely caring towards the residents. A faultless boutique residential aged care place, but more like penthouse type of living. It doesn't just look magnificent, the staff genuinely care

My grandmother Para recently moved to Japara The Regent Aged Care Home on Regent Street in Mount Waverley. Since she moved in two months ago, she has settled in very well and we are all delighted with the care that she receives. The staff are compassionate and professional, and tailor their care specifically to our grandmother’s needs. The chef makes a special effort to accommodate my grandmother’s specific dietary requirements and taste, and she receives timely medical and nursing attention which we value greatly given her complex health issues. The building and facilities are all brand new, which certainly uplifts the spirits of the residents. We are very appreciative of the communication with, and efforts of the staff, and would highly recommend this aged care home to families with elderly loved ones. Julien, Para’s Grandson

My Father has been in Japara The Regent Aged Care Home since December 2020, The level of care is amazing, the rooms are wonderful, the food is absolutely wonderful and the chef does an amazing job.The complete design of the complex is purpose built to accommodate the elderly residents. The attention to detail to make the residents feed at home, be safe and be cared is just wonderful.LIz the manager is professional and was very efficient. Priya Wilson, the wellbeing manager is simply amazing, she has organised more activities for my father in one month then he ever received at his last care facility in 5 years, and my dad gets a freshly brewed coffee every morning at about 11 am. The receptions staff are always there to meet you at the front entrance and always know you by first name and greet you with a smile. The nursing and support staff not only meet your expectation but exceed them, they are professional and compassionate.The Communication is great and the Japara app keep me updated with all the necessary information with regard to my dad’s.I am so happy I chose this wonderful home for my dad.

This is a new place that was built and finished last year in April and with now approximately 50 plus residents and up too 20 staff around the clock looking after each resident plus my mum who is 83 has been there for nearly one an half yearsSo if you're looking for a place l would suggest The regent / Japara age care in Mount Waverley

The Japara Regent food quality has gone down lately and the residents are not happy. The place is under staffed and sometimes it can take a while to respond to calls for help. The place was better a few months ago. On the plus side, most staff are fantastic and pleasant.
