A nefarious hang out for nefarious dudes. It's fun to watch them hustle their skills, but I'd keep a distance, there's always something dodgy going on here. I did have an intelligent conversation once with an enthusiastic and eager to impress young man, who delivered an oratory on how he was still recovering from his jubilant and excessive night prior, he insisted he was dedicated to his sport nonetheless and had to keep training despite the set back of his hangover. Bravo young chap, if only all young people held such discipline for their passions.

Good park but can attract a dodgy crowd. often ppl passed out in the bushes and needles near the toilets ..... But if that doesn't put you off then knock yourself out on the huge bowl and park.

Have spent a fair bit of time here. Good for medium skill level skaters...not so good for kids. Has pretty high ramps and a large local skate crew that populate it most days. There's other places set up much better for kids.

With the wisdom of age comes an exponential growth in one's sense of self preservation and a superhuman ability to quickly rationalise the quantum of one's possible degree of exhilaration achieved should one personally attempt the stunts performed by the daring youths at Prahran Skate Park, in contrast with the risk of incurring injury should one do so, then factoring in the degree of injuries possible, the extent of consequential disability, the cost of respective hospital admissions, surgeries, treatments and ensuing physiotheraputic rehabilitation, and of course; restorative dental and orthodontic requirements, plus the cost of private medical, less any savings covered by the insurance, plus the estimated increase in premiums incurred should one claim, less the tax deductions available to the privately insured.... all whilst factoring in the possible loss of taxable income whilst hospitalised and how such losses might negate the impact of the above mentioned tax deductions, and, more importantly, where the threshold lies where one's loss of taxable income renders any tax relief gained by paying for private medical insurance, exceeds ones income tax payable, rendering ones medical insurance utterly superfluous..... then one's considers the exhilaration experienced when teetering on the brink of a halfpipe, has got nothing on the heart thumping adrenal rush one feels when teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.

I take my kids there and there's usually people drinking or smoking pot. Rubbish everywhere and no security. Great if you're an older skater but not family friendly

The thing that sets Prahran apart is it's different to a lot of other parks, sometime you have to get a bit creative there to really get the full experience. The mini is great, the vert is huge and there is plenty of angle iron on the ledges so your not just sliding on concrete. The park is the old rougher concrete so it does eat wheels faster than more modern parks and it does get crowded very quickly.I have seen plenty of people mention not bringing your kids to Prahran and one of the reasons is the big Hubba at the stair set leading into the bowl area completely obscures the view of the right side of the bowl area from where most people start their line, you really can't see little ones until you are already at pace.
