Absolutely pathetic

Poor communication about the actual process of how a tax return is processed. E.g. changing your financial institute of choice to the tax agents and not providing any information if we need to change it back to our own.Takes 3x as long to receive a tax return rather than processing it yourself. Mine was process by H&R Block on the 9th of July and I still haven’t received it, I do understand that the agent said 2 to 3 weeks to receive the return but when doing it yourself you receive it in less than a week on average.Also checked MyGov and the return has actually been processed, why does this take so long....Prepared incorrectly and missed fields even though information was available and should have been processed. E.g privet health insurance, and I also took the time to prepare each and every bill I received as I’m working from home, but the agent proceeds to use the 80c refund instead. Probably because that was the easier option…H&R Block do not deserve the time or money/effort people put in to gather information and proceed with a tax return properly.I won’t be recommending H&R Block ever, to any one I know as ill just do it for them myself…… Correctly with a fast turnaround time for their tax return and for free.Should have just done it myself.

Edit: someone else reviewed my case and rang me to chat about it. She was nice and explained things well which made sense. I suggested that the agent I saw should be given feedback on explanating things better and being upfront with fees.Worst experience!I'm a sole trader but so far have only spent money on training and had one small payment. I was told by the ATO live chat I need to claim my training expenses as losses for this year and amend last year's tax return to claim them too. I'm claiming them as losses as my income from being a relief teacher this is less than $18200.I just had my H&R block appointment for my tax return. This is the first time I've used a tax agent and it wasn't a good experience.The guy was so vague. He said I didn't really need to claim my losses because I hadn't 'really' started my business yet and I could just see it as a hobby. So I asked if I could leave and put it on my tax next year instead and also said I need to amend last year's tax for my expenses/losses. Then he said no I would have to put the losses this year to be carried over but kept talking about it as a hobby not really needing to and I tried to clarify but he was just so vague. I even asked what he would recommend and he said it's up to me. So, we put it in as business and he initially said it would be $249 but then said he would do it for $199 for both since it's such a small thing to do". Well
