IKKYU: Corrective Massage Therapy

Wish I could give 10 STARS!! After suffering from chronic pain & discomfort for many years (despite seeing countless physiotherapists, massage therapists, etc. without success), I’m finally feeling good again thanks to Shigy! Shigy helped me become more aware of my posture and correct the underlying cause of my problems (he a master of his craft!). Shigy goes above & beyond for his clients and is always warm, friendly and genuinely kind. Thank you Shigy!

Shigy has been such a great therapist. He genuinely cares about his clients. I've been to physio, chiro and osteo where I would feel anxious about the treatment or feel they just want to treat the issue without getting to the root cause. That's what makes Ikkyu massage therapy different. It provides a holistic view and help identify the cause of your pain or issue and how to tackle it. It's not just a standard massage. It a mix of postural assessment, stretch, soft tissue work, gentle mobilisation, etc. It's quite unique and I do highly recommend for anyone to give it a go and see the benefits themselves.

I had an amazing experience at this Japanese massage therapy shop-Ikkyu! The service was exceptional and the therapist (Shigy) had great skill and knowledge. He was able to identify my problem areas and work on them to provide me with relief from the pain and discomfort that I was experiencing (in my case migraine, stress, and stiff shoulder)The location is also very convenient and easy to access. I appreciated the cozy and calming ambience of the shop, which helped me relax and enjoy my massage even more.Overall, I highly recommend this shop to anyone in need of a high-quality massage. I highly recommend IKKYU and deeply appreciated each of my appointments there! I have a long time history of muscle tension and postural imbalances, and the treatments visibly left me with less pain and tension (if not none!), and better alignment and mobility at each time. It also helped me to have a much faster and pleasant recovery from my activities and injuries. But that's not the entire story either. Shigeo is such a great professional, and one of the kindest people I have ever had the good fortune to cross paths with. He is very punctual, calm, nurturing and attentive, and definitively a role model for those and so many other virtues.
