I was feeling a bit dry on the way through (and so was chazza after that terrible g&t at the Longreach RSL) so I decided to send one of my sons, Befa in to grab a couple'a roadies for the drive home. The XXXX long necks were killer, great temp and the brown paper bag to match, nothing better for a long drive than a bit of grog. Chazza's cruisers weren't cold but were lower than room temperature, my dunce daughter Debby got the wrong flavour though. Me and Chazza were extremely impressed by the speedy service and the ripper bottle-O if we ever pass through Longreach again this will be on our radar for shizzle. x

The guy that served us should realise that tourists are keeping him in his job. If you want to tell the locals about the tourists, wait till the tourists have left or out of earshot.

Working in the public eye and serving customers, grumpy people don't fit. In the years purchasing from the bottle shop, especially 2021, there are 2 men that never say hello or smile. They serve and don't even breath a word, exchange the transaction and unless we say hello, its nothing. We used to always say hi, how ya going etc. But when you don't get much back, it becomes a rehearsal that you just choose to 'why bother'. Working in the tourism industry we decided to let you know, to hear these fellas talk to people that are customers they know, just winge about the tourists. Especially the one with the beard and wears a cap. A smile and hello can actually give someone a great day.

Pulled up in this DRIVE THROUGH recently. Waited for over a minute while 1 staff member looked at me from behind the counter and did not serve me. The second staff member was seemingly stocking the fridge and did not serve me and then a third staff member appeared and also didn't make any effort to greet or acknowledge that i was even there. Subsequently drove out and gave my business to another town. Not the only business in Longreach to give us a cold welcome.
