Always a fantastic day trip. Barb and Richard are fabulous hosts. Excellent setting for a group tour or private experience. The working truffle farm is fascinating and the food is wonderful. Highly recommend.

One of the best food experiences I've had in Canberra. The venue is very simple, but its like sitting in your family kitchen and having someone make you exceptional food. I Highly recommend making the trip out to Bredbo to visit Macenmist for the truffle festival.

Barbara and Richard and their truffle hunting dogs were all so pleasing and warm and happy to talk us through their truffle stories. Despite the low season, we managed to pack some tasty and delicious truffle infused butter, salt n gin. A great stopover and a must visit for all truffle lovers. Remember, truffle is the black gold, one of the most sort after black hard scented fungi.

Get down to Macenmist and enjoy an exceptional experience from two amazing hosts, and their awesome kitchen comrades. Do it!Barb and Richard run a tight, but familial set up. You'll instantly feel comfortable and involved as you're taken through the farm's history, set up, and a truffle hunt with the hunting dogs leading the charge. They freely and openly answer your inane questions, provide you with oodles of information, and show your their winter routine as we did alongside their faithful and beautiful hunting dogs. Returning hunt we then spent the afternoon in their hosting set up listening to great yarns, having more informative conversation, and indulging in 10 courses of fantastic food.We spent the day here in the end, and the experience is one I will be quick to recommend to others, as well as one I'll go back for again. Do not look at other truffieres in the region, just head to Macenmist and lap up the great time they will provide!

What a wonderful experience! Barb & Richard are amazing hosts and certainly have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to truffles & Truffle Hunting! Fahren & Tawd the Truffle dogs were amazing! We did the Degustation & hunt. This was a winner as we were able to taste our Truffle finds first hand. But the best and most unique part was having the chef cook and chat to you in a kitchen setting, which meant you weren't just sitting around waiting for next course but could interact, ask questions and just have a bit of a banter at a lovely cruisy pace! A MUST for any Truffle enthusiasts or curious!

One of the best food experiences I’ve ever had! Barbara and Richard were wonderful hosts who explained the ins and outs of truffle hunting and let our group experience the fun first hand. We enjoyed a delicious truffle brunch with truffles eggs, bacon, croissants and truffle butter before our hunt, then watched their two gorgeous dogs at work finding black truffles. We then watched the truffles being cleaned and weighed. The icing on the cake was the chocolate truffle cake they make for my best friend to celebrate her birthday - an absolutely lovely gesture.

This is a must-do experience when in Canberra. Barbara and Richard were not only great hosts and “truffle-dog bosses”, but also had may great stories and insights from their wonderful life. The truffle hunt was amazing with Fahren and Tawdiffu showing us true sniffing skills, and the three course lunch with truffles featuring in every course was delicious but my highlight was meeting King and Missy!

My partner and I did the truffle hunt & lunch experience last weekend and we both loved it! Barbara and Richard were both lovely and more than happy to share their passion and knowledge about truffles farming and using them in cooking - keen to try some of those ideas out this weekend. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!
