In summaryI have now given up on Diamondshine doing the right thing so I would like to share my experience. I would compare their product to the grout between tiles as it is porous and soft. I would not recommend it for any areas that have foot traffic or floor coverings and we will likely tile over the top of it in the coming years. For external areas, I would recommend carpet over this product and have already arranged for paving to hide the embarrassment it has become. Our ExperienceWe decided to go with polished concrete because we thought it would be a durable hassle-free flooring option and we hated the dirty grout look that came with tiles. After researching a few concrete polishers we met with Barton from Diamondshine who advised that he was a long way into their research and development of the concrete overlay product and that he was able to provide a very white and very durable floor surface. He advised that there will be a bit of cracking and after 12 months, that he would come back and seamlessly patch. We decided to go with Diamond shine (Dec17) for all downstairs flooring and an alfresco area. At first the flooring was a feature of our house but the maintenance was intense. It was very course and caught every piece of dirt. The traffic areas became noticeably darker and the outdoor alfresco attracted and held so much dirt it would require a 2 hour gerni clean once a month.Cracks did appear as advised and we advised Diamond shine at ~ 12 months to ask for them to come out. The usual response was that they were so busy and couldn’t fit me in. They ended up coming out at about 2.5 years (Jun19) and due to the state of the floors, they had to do a full regrind which required all furniture to be removed from the house for about 6 days but the outcome was closer to what we originally hoped for. We showed them the alfresco which they admitted was horrible and they promised to return to regrind and fill in the cracks.I was patient and did not even make contact during the Covid lock downs. I have since attempted to make contact (Nov21-Apr22) but my 50 + voice/ text messages have been ignored. The internal floors are again deteriorating and the traffic areas becoming darker. The floor cannot cope with any spills (which leaves obvious circular marks) and any floor coverings leave obvious colour variations. The alfresco is an embarrassment even after a 2 hour gerni clean.
