Donna the Astronomer at Milroy Observatory

Beautiful spot for star sighting. Donna is fantastic as a star gazing-guide, oozing with passion for her job, and is eager to share with both the experienced and inexperienced alike.Great pictures of the moon that you can take with your own smartphone.Quiet little spot that is easy to access by car. Bring some warm clothes and a hat to stay cozy while relaxing with the stars. I would highly recommend bringing a flask of hot coffee or hot chocolate, as a cherry on top to this adventure for your eyes!

A great fun experience. Donna and Peter were both very friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth the 10 minute drive from town.

We did enjoy learning about the night sky and star gazing.Their large telescope has been out of commission for a long while and even if it were working you'd needs public liability waiver signed before entering.$33 per person 1.5 hour information session rushed through because of how many people attended. If you had questions you were to look it up on their website.Photos not allowed unless you schedule an extra photography session.

The wife, grandson, and I attended our second viewing with Donna, her husband, and her team over the October long weekend. It was fantastic! This was our second time touring the night sky with Donna, she bent over backwards to ensure she could fit us in on the night. The experience was wonderful, genuinely informative, and a real treat for our astronomy mad grandson. I can't rate this experience highly enough.

This experience was absolutely worth, every frozen minute. Lucky they provide blankets for use. Viewing the milky way was a majestic moment, only enhanced by the knowledge that Gary spoke. It was a perfect night for viewing and i would 100% recommend this activity. My family and I Thank you.

Donna was very good and she patiently answered all the questions asked by the kids. She is very friendly and we love the way she carried the entire 1 hour

Visiting the Warrumbungle National Park to enjoy the dark skies, we thought we would learn a bit more about the stars above our heads (different to those from the Northern hemisphere we grew up with).We book a session with Donna the Astronomer, who was just coming back from Exmouth WA to see the total sun eclipse. She showed us a few amazing photos, just before the session began.After Donna excused herself, Kayla and Gary brilliantly lead the session, pointing the 12 inches telescopes toward a number of celestial objects. We learned a lot, could ask many questions they replied to and really enjoyed ourselves.We will definitely come back in spring to see a different sky!Thank you for a lovely night.

Good night learnt a few things, the group was on the large side, which made viewing times a little restricted. Normally there are two sessions planned, on this occasion the second had been cancelled (a reasonable exhaust) but that didn't change the fact it was crowded.

I have known Donna the Astronomer for a couple of years now. I have learnt so much about the night sky in such a beautiful way. Me and my family had an excellent experience star gazing with Donna. It was educational as well as entertaining…. Everything to do with the experience/knowledge she had gathered during her career. She is very friendly as well. I would recommend Donna to anyone looking for stargazing at Warrumbungle.
