Stock Exchange Cafe
The historic Charters Towers stock exchange is the must visit place at the top end of Gill St. This magnificent building was in a bad state of disrepair prior to 1970 but has been bought back to its former glory over the past few decades with a new glass roof fitted in the 70's for what I believe was about $100.000.00 at the time. The Stock Exchange cafe sells fine food and coffee at great prices. The staff are courteous and will to answer questions you may have.

Beautiful building let down by this ridiculous excuse for a cafe. Coffee came out, lady put down a flat white, we asked if it was lactose free, she said yes (it wasn’t). Next coffee came out was the lactose free. Ordered a very basic bacon and eggs with our party 4. After 45 minutes checked on the order- “it will be 7-10 minutes”. Lady from the table behind came in to ask about her order, she had already waited over an hour and only received the kids meals which were all wrong. After an hour, asked for the food in a take away box, as I couldn’t hang around any longer. Finally got it after a total of about 70 minutes! The bacon was barely cooked, basic eggs, and ordinary toast. As a visitor, this place reflect poorly on Charters Towers and my experience there. Staff were very ordinary, not at all cheerful. Do not recommend. You will be disappointed.

Stopped in here with my partner & her cousin showing a city boy like me Charters towers. I really appreciate Australian history well worth a visit had a slice of their homemade caramel cheesecake yep it's really homemade and a coffee. Make sure you check out the gallery at the back of the arcade well worth a visit

Great place for a first timer ordering; awesome customer service and presentation of food. Plenty of table s in and out. It's. Suitable for immobility and seniors require use walking assistant aids.

A rather old fashion eatery where you can sit in the actual Exchange. Food is homemade. A lovely unusual experience.

Beautiful architecture made dining a pleasure. We sat outside the cafe itself so they're was no table service and no menus available at the table.Pot of Tea (tea bags) was nice, but took some time to serve. The cakes were nice too and were served quickly. We'd finished the food before the drinks arrived.

For the Best lunch in Charter Towers at The Stock Exchange Cafe, we had pies and for desert was condensed milk and jelly. Great coffee. Worth the drive.
