After a nice drive in the Adelaide Hills stumbled across this Pub. So glad we did, magnificent service and home style meals. Look forward to our next visit.

It'd been a while since we'd been to the Charleston and our last memories were quite positive, so we were keen to stop in. But, we should note - that was pre-Covid.This time round, it was an utter disappointment. The garlic bread nothing more than a cut Woolies baguette style. The chicken schnitty, which was a 'large', was the size of a small steak. The lamb on the roast - one would think a staple and unable to go wrong - was dry and over cooked. Worse though, it was clearly cut and left on the pass to dry out even further. A swig or 3 of our drink was required to stop the coughing and get it down.Vegetables on both meals ranged from over boiled and tasteless to not cooked at all. The roast potatoes were clearly not parboiled and were still uncooked in the middle.Gravy on both meals resembled pudding. In terms of the space, the chairs and tables are clearly dated and stained and in need of a revamp. It's a pity. With so many pubs in the area either doing traditional pub fare better or are changing it up with more seasonal menus.Unfortunately for the Charleston, it looks like it'll be a while before we return again.

Charming country pub that serves honest pub grub.Chose the 'massive chicken snitty', but I think it must have shrunk a little in the cold winter weather hahaha.I think if your labelling something massive" then it should Wow you when it arrives at the table... unfortunately this just wasn't the case. It was pretty tasty though. The pizza base was unfortunately chewy as though the dough wasn't proofed correctly or perhaps was over worked. The shank was definitely the pick of the bunch.Overall we had a pleasant evening. Beer was nice n' cold and the staff were plenty friendly."

Love ❤️ this cute little hotel. 5 stars service, 5 stars food, 5 stars for friendly patrons as well. Lovely fires in front bar as well as dining room. Perfect for a cold winters night out. Loved it here.

Lovely pub, has a very clean and classical feel. The menu is a collection of all the classics. My wife and I had schnitzels, the choice of three sizes and the option to switch out the salad for vegetables is a great inclusion. My daughter chose the fish and chips, the fish was cooked perfectly with a nice crisp batter and moist flakey fish on the inside. Will definitely be coming again for lunch.
