Club Marine Boat Insurance

STEER CLEAR ! Absolutely disgusting company to deal with in every aspect from the get go. 3 + years of being insured with them and all I got was arrogant staff trying to wipe their hands clean from any responsibility. They denied my claim for ridiculous reasons, so I went through AFCA, who after investigating have deemed club marine had no right to refuse my claim and are now responsible for a total loss. This has taken 9+ months of back to back stress and drama mind you ! They are now saying my ski was overvalued by over 2 thousand dollars and refuse to pay the amount it was insured for, even though the amount insured for is 2+ thousand dollars cheaper than any of the same model skis for sale !!! Absolute joke of a company. Don’t let them fool you, just look at the other many reviews ! I wish I did !

Could not extend my lay-up insurance on line. I could reduce it where l had to pay more premium but not the other way around. Extremely limited capability making it almost useless to most clients l suspect. Noting the response below from Club Marine, again demonstrates its uselessness to clients and all aspects are in their favour. If you read all the reviews here you will find the only positive reviews reflect the ease of buying a policy and CM taking the money. All the other reviews (negative) are about claims and customer service

Avoid this company if you want to make a claim. Someone told me long time that do not go with Club Marine and now I know this was my biggest mistake ever. I’m with Club Marine for 3 years. It only good when they take your money. But when your claim don’t even think about it. They will find every single mistake not to pay out. I had my boat and trailer stolen it was park on front of my house with security cameras with motion sensor detect and have pad lock in my trailer. In there policy it doesn’t say you MUST TAKE reasonable precautions against theft when unattended. It only said on policy reasonable precautions against theft. I am new to boating and wasn’t think about theft. I was reasonable thinking parking in front of my house with padlocks on trailer and some bricks under trailer wheel and CCTV and motion detector notifications on my phone. Just because it windy storm on that day I couldn’t hear anything outside when the theft took the boat. They just doesn’t want to payout so no matter what reason they find a little mistake not to cover. Now I know why they cheap. Better of go RACV or other else.Now I will tell all my friends do not go with this insurance company. Would not recommend anyone at the end you will lose everything waste of time and money.

How is this company allowed to operate.I was previously insured with club marine on my past 2 boats and never made a claim today I called to insure my new boat and was shocked at there clauses.I informed them that I want to know if my boat will be insured outside my property and was informed I had to protect it to the best of my ability so I told them I have security cameras a wheel lock and a hitch lock and I asked would this be enough. Reply, dunno can't see if you've got any fences so I said I hadn't and I will send photos to confirm boat will be insured, answer can't do that mate you have to protect it to the best of your ability.Also if you do make a claim we can choose to pay you less than you've insured the boat for So after this * decided to check reviews and sure enough a few of people have had boats and we're denied a payout. What's the point in paying for insurance if your not insured.I won't be returning to club marine any time soon

We had our PWC and trailer stolen whilst they were locked to our car which was parked on the street for a few hours during the day.Club Marine treats you like a crook when you claim and then find reasons in their weasel words contract to get out of paying.If you claim on a Club Marine Policy be prepared for a long and drawn out investigation that will lead to your claim being denied.During the investigation process whilst being questioned you actually get asked if you organised the theft.Basically if you take your boat or PWC out of locked storage to use it and It is stolen whilst out of storage, you are not insured.If your boat or PWC is stolen from locked storage and there is no damage evident to the locks or storage facility, you are not insured.A friend of mine warned me they would not honour a claim if I had to make one. He was right.If you choose to use club marine you will get a nice glossy magazine and some nice stickers for your money.You will not be adequately insured.Their policy is not worth the paper it is written on.Don't waste your money.Their policy is not worth the paper it is written on.

I made a claim with Club Marine fully expecting it would be a long drawn out process, as unfortunately, that has been my general experience in dealing with other insurance companies. The service I was provided from the first call to their authorisation of the claim could be described as nothing less than outstanding and a credit to everybody involved. I am currently dealing with some far more important issues in my life than making an insurance claim, which I fully expected would cause me additional grief. In fact this experience has actually done quite the opposite, as something has finally gone right for us. So thanks again Club Marine, you have been a silver lining to what has otherwise been a very dark cloud.

I can now see why this company has so many bad reviews should have listen to the boat shops

Terrible insurance company. Insured my new boat in March with Club Marine. In October I changed employers- and therefore my email address and bank account details changed.Unknowingly, I missed 4 weeks of direct debits for the policy. No phone call to alert me, just an email (to my old, unused email address) advising my policy has been cancelled without and verbal notice or consultation.This issue and subsequent policy premium debt could easily have been resolved and paid up with a quick phone.Terribly unprofessional. Avoid Club Marine at all costs!

Stay away from this insurer. I have been dealing with this company for the last 9 months on a claim I have made that they have rejected. The grounds of the claim were wrong they had the story wrong and their grounds of rejection is also false. This company will not honour my claim as I wasn’t insured with them for a long period when claim was made. Staff are very rude to the lint where I have been hung up on when the questions I asked got too hard for them. They were quick to take my money for the policy but will not honour the policy. I have lost the whole boating season and have missed on quality time with my family on the boat due to this so called insurance company.Their grounds of the rejection of the story is also not even correct of the incident . They made me pay over $2000 to have engine removed from the boat a they wanted to inspect further at my cost only to leave me high and dry with a $2000 bill from the mechanic. My primacy has also been compromised throug their investigator as this gentleman had no issues discussing another member that he was investigating. He gave me full names and details on the people he was investigating. This is against the privacy act.

They can't pay their bills to workshops correctly and also charge unreasonable contributions on repairs.Fwiw - tried to contact them after the reply. Still waiting on a return communication
