Rent Star

As a previous tenant, the management of properties was atrocious, they never responded to emails, rarely picked up the phone and when we left they manipulated us into using their expensive bond cleaning service. We had to contact the owners themselves more often than not. When I first moved into a rentstar property they were perfectly adequate but in the last year all the good property mangers left to start a new company and the whole business went drastically downhill.

What an amazing crew they have at Rent Star. For property management, Real Estate and anything; they would have my confidence.Our company organised a going away party for one of their staff members who had worked there for 7 years.We got to see how all of the members of the office get along and I must say I am impressed. Work parties aren't always fun to host or organise but they were a delight.Any office or company with team culture and sense of community that good would show a lot of care for customers and clients.Very happy to work with you guys and look forward to working with you in the future.Cheers.

If you have the choice to rent with anyone else, take it. Avoid this agency at all costs. We had serious water damage in this house for the entire time we lived there. Basement flooded every time it rained. Master bedroom window literally rotting away. Leaks coming through several parts of the roof all through the living space and kitchen upstairs. None of the damage was visible or disclosed during inspection and the problem was not fixed after 2 years despite us issuing a breach notice. This damage well pre-dated the 2022 floods, by the way, so they have no excuse for not dealing with it in a timely fashion.When we moved out, they withheld our bond as long as possible, refusing to progress to each stage of the dispute process until the last possible date and dragging the process out for 3 months over the holidays, no less. We had the house professionally cleaned, and we have proof that the owner and contractors were doing renovations on the house BEFORE we got the exit report returned to us. They withheld our bond because we didn't want to clean up a bathroom that the owner had literally been using. We're tenants, not a maid service. I get that realestates view tenants as subhuman, but asking us to scrub the toilet the owner has been using is a step too far. Of course we found out afterwards that this was just a hollow justification from them, as the reviews here make it clear that withholding bond is standard practice for Rent Star.We ended up with our Bond returned in full after 3 months because thankfully, we put in our claim before they did, and they would have had to take us to QCAT to drag it out longer. Which they were never going to do, because we had proof they were in the wrong.Anyway, there are more than enough reviews on here to back this story up. Not to mention how obviously fake the positive reviews from tenants are. If you're a landlord and you care about actually having stable, long-term tenants who look after your property and are treated with respect and dignity in return, then avoid Rent Star at all costs. If you're a tenant, then I know the rental market is tough and you may not have an option. In which case my advice is file your bond claim first. Always put in your claim first. And be ready to wait months before you see that money.

Rent star manage two of our properties. They are fantastic and always deal with issues promptly. Their processes with vacating tenants have always been seamless, and new tenants moving in within days (which is always good with the mortgages increasing so much now). I have recommended several friends to rent star which now have their properties managed by them.
