I’m not surprised to see a 3.3 star rating! Not even sure where do I start in telling how incompetent, potentially deceiving and unethical they are.Despite all the negative media attention they had during the June - July 2022 period, we decided to trust them purely because of the house we really wanted to get.Long story short, 6 months after signing a quote (binding and price lock), a great deal of absolutely disgusting poor customer service at all levels, we were slapped with a $50k extra on our contract due to “6star rating that is required for houses”. NO ONE at Metricon bothered to tell us that raising the ceiling and changing a couple of windows would have such an impact on the 6 star rating of the house. We should have done our research. We give them that. However, after multiple discussion with people in the industry, the $50k was way to sharp as we understood it!When asked if the original floor plan of the house has a 6 star rating, the consultant said it does not as people normally make changes. I have double check this claim and it seems that all houses “approved” for selling should already have a 6 star rating.When I asked for the report and itemised list of what is required to be done that will result in an extra $50k cost, we were not provided with one. When we asked to get just the base house instead for our contract, we were told we cannot get that anymore.I went to other builders to get this $50k pressure tested, and no one seemed to believe it seemed to be anything other than a likely margin grab. There’s been reports in the media suggesting that Metricon contracts were financially lost making. Behaviour like this by them and their people seems to at least consolidate this perception for us.In the meantime, we wasted 6 months with Metricon waiting for a contract that exceed what signed by $50k and now risk not getting approval for the type of house we really want due to higher interest rates and serviceability of our mortgage.Advice to others:If really want to be treated like someone who is buying peanuts from the side of the road, then these guys are will not disappoint point you.

The after handover service is very disappointing. I was naive to wait for Metricon's answer with a broken dishwasher for 10 days. I also emailed about the heater not working properly, and DID NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE.I emailed and called 4 times regarding issues, and I got a this will be escalated internally" every single time. I never heard from anyone from Metricon so I called again and was told that it's my responsibility to fix it and pay for it by myself.Once I asked why no one bothered to call me back to let me know

Buyer beware, choose another builderNothing but disaster after disasterPre build, on-site build was really good Tim groot did an excellent job, but that’s when it ended .3 years on still chasing defects, no communication& when we finally get approved for works the team is sacked and we start again. Don’t waiste your time or money with Metricon.

Our journey has been full of pain with Metricon. Every interaction is painful after the sales stage.Sales team was amazing, no comment.After sales, they sent us to Geelong for color selection, we met a consultant" who didn't bother to pull the details of the Metricon display home that we liked until after 30 minutes of arguing with her. We chose Metricon to build our first home. It has been a nightmare since me began in 2020. It's been 2 years we started dealing with metricon from sales to contract stage moved on the the site delayed construction and now the handover stage is still 2 weeks away after being extended due to Christmas holidays and gas connection . Our site supervisor Novak , had the worst experience ever with him . Through out the build met us twice in one year build time .

This is a complaint against your painter completing his work at Lot 185 Chardonnay Avenue, Moama. NSW. 2731. We live in our home 2 doors down from this building site. On the 19th of this month we were moving stones that had been delivered to our home. It was a dry day with no rain. Your painter decided he would dispose of his paint laden water into the gutter. As a result we were left with (as the photographs show) a complete mess of paint laden water mixed with our stones. It took my wife and I countless hours and litres of water to correct the problem. Again 20th your painter decided to do the same thing. This is not good enough. My wife is 69 years old and I am 70. What is Metricon going to do to reimburse us with the many hundreds of litres of water we now have to pay for and the hours of our labor to clean up the best way we could?You state in your advertising that you keep clean building sites. Is this how you achieve that by disposing of unwanted liquids, items etc. away from your building site?I will keep these photos and message to show to council if I have to.

There is lack of communication made between buyers and the sale representatives, even sales manager!. We have been trying to get in touch for 2 months back and forth with no response then me having to call back and wait again and again! We were told before paying deposit that this is deposit is subject to finance , our finance didn’t go through and they still haven’t paid us our refund and it had been more then two months of waiting and getting in touch with them yet nothing is being done! Do not recommend this company. Worst of all no efficient and proper communication is being made.

I built a house through you and it's been about seven months since I lived here. I chose Metricorn with the belief that it is the best construction company in Australia. However, my experience so far is considered the worst construction company. The defect that is not my fault has not been fixed, and the very basic defect has not been fixed and the problem continues. As a result, my new house has a very large hole in the wall, and when I take a shower, I can hear the sound of water flowing through the wall, and when it rains, water leaks from the roof. Whenever you visit my house because you guys fix it every time, I can't do my own time and I can't work, and it never gets fixed. The rain is still leaking and my new house is being damaged. The metricon is not making any compensation and is just told to wait. Is this the service of Australia's top construction company?

We have been there for the first time. Wode variety of upgrades to choose from, well displayed and compared to each other.Onsite cafe comes handy, parking available but you have to use the intercom at the gate for them to open it for you.Customer service was good with no issurs at all.

Please try to avoid or think twice before choosing this construction company!After you signed of settlement,there is no maintenance and repair with their the warranty,once the issues happened,they will try to find their all the excuses to avoid their the responsibility!Even you had the reports from Ausco build and insurance company (It is clearly pointed out that this is the damage caused by the builder's construction mistakes)They still ignored these and declined !This is Australia No.1 builder service?As an Australian, I feel ashamed of it!
