They were available when I needed them and provided a safe professional work team who were friendly, respectful and worked well as a team. I highly recommend Dawson. They mishandled my Office Desk and broke it!!!Then the staff said that the desk was loose. Lie!I have moved it interstate twice and moved it locally twice, i.e. a total of 4 times without any issues or comments from other removalists saying that it was loose. They carried it incorrectly and they know it! I had to add a note to their final invoice (completed by their team leader to ensure that the all details were correct); note that I have noted that the desk had been moved before without issues (different hand writing obvious).The team leader was even concerned to the extent that he asked whether I would inform the office, to which I replied no but obviously once I saw the note on the final invoice (which indicated he was going to tell the office anyway and try to blame it on the desk been loose), I discussed this with Chris (local manager) when paying the balance.In the end I was so concerned about their ability to move my belongings into the storage facility that once they had brought them all upstairs I advised the men to leave as I did not trust that they would not damage any further items. I will give the men this, they did at least apologise to me on the day.The quote was for 2 men. They sent 3 men and used this (as per Chris) as an excuse to charge me the full quote since the move (they claim was done quicker because of 3 men). This was said purely as a way to increase their charge for the service and to reduce/eliminate the need to compensate me adequately for the broken desk. Chris attempted to compensate me for the desk with a small amount (which was in my opinion inadequate). Everything was already prepared for them (even the mattress cover sheet). All they had to do was put them in the truck and take them off. It was very easy for them.I would ensure that if you're going to use their service, ensure you watch how their staff are working in every step of the way.I would never recommend this company to anybody!

I contracted Dawsons to move my household furniture to storage and then 8 months later to my son's new house. Upon delivery I noticed that the sideboard was damaged and the broken piece was cellotaped back on. They must have thought I wouldn't notice it. The cream lounge suite had a number of large greasy hand prints where they carried it. Some of the chairs were broken. I will never recommend or use them ever again.

Arrived on time, was really efficient and all furniture was delivered without damage. The crew was really friendly. Would use them again.

We just had a removal by Dawsons from Canberra to Bendigo. The pre-package, uplift and delivery was faultless and nothing was damaged. Marty, who did the pre-package and uplift in Canberra was relaxed, organised was very experienced. The delivery team was also relaxed and organised. This was our 4th removal and by far the easiest and least painful we've ever had. Thank you Dawsons for taking the care to make it painless and memorable for all the right reasons.

I would like to thank Dawson moving for the high quality service provided during my move from the ACT to WA. A special thank to Chris and Brett for answering all my questions immediately. Part 1 of 2I don’t even know where to begin with all the things that went wrong with our move with Dawsons.Once booked the lack of communication began. I had to constantly follow up for dates and time frames.A couple days before our uplift the sales guy came out to look at what we hadn’t managed to packed ourselves (this was always apart of our original quote that we would part pack) so they could allow time and boxes for the packing guys to complete.When the packing guys showed up, they had no idea they had stuff to pack and no boxes.The boxes they ended up packing weren’t counted and we were charged for the quoted boxes not actual boxes used.At one point I went out the front to find the guys smoking while loading things into the truck.We were moving interstate and we had a 2 part delivery. Some things to be delivered straight away and the remaining items in storage until we found a house. It was made very very clear multiple times on the day which boxes were needing to be delivered straight away and which ones were for storage.I was told it would take roughly 3 weeks for our stuff to arrive in WA. After this time period I contacted the original person I had been dealing with (the sales guy) as he was the only point of contact I had for the company. I was blown off and told I had to speak to someone else as he only dealt with sales. This new person basically gave me the number for the company in WA and told me to deal with them directly. Now while I understand this makes sense and cuts out the middle man, it’s not very professional and they could have arranged for the WA company to contact me. After all we have paid Dawsons a lot of money.Anyways the WA company were great and arranged delivery of our stuff within a couple days.Now they delivered exactly what was in the paperwork to be delivered, problem was half our stuff we wanted was missing. It was all on the storage paperwork and could have been anywhere in the storage container.I didn’t double check all the paperwork during the uplift as it was made very clear multiple times during the day and I believed the guys were doing the right thing.I tried about 6 times to contact Dawsons to arrange for the missing items to be delivered and they never got back to me once. I always had to follow up or call to get some sort of reply from them. Which was always we will look into it and get back to you, which they never did.Our missing stuff was never delivered, which meant we had to go and purchase items we already owned and should have had in our possession. Not even so much as an apology from Dawsons.

Part 2 of 2We finally moved into our house and arranged with the WA company for our stuff to be delivered roughly 5 months after it was put into storage.When the team were unpacking our stuff it was discovered multiple items were damaged1. Dining Table2. TV Stand3. Kids Toy4. Set of Drawers5. Items missing from our king bed (I think it was 1 bolt and 2 inner supporting legs)With regards to the dining table and tv I specifically mentioned to the 2 men packing up our contents “are you not taking the legs off these items?” Their reply was “no we don’t do that”, I then asked again if they could as it had been done on all our other moves, to which I was told there was no need.Removal of the dining table legs, and tv legs had been done in every move we have done. All around WA and from WA to ACT in the first place.At the time of booking, I was dealing with the Canberra office. After a few discussions over the phone relating to insurance I was under the assumption that any items packed by Dawson’s were covered by insurance and a duty of care to handle our property with care and anything that we packed ourselves were not covered as we did not take out the additional insurance.After we contacted Dawsons about these items we were offered no apology and basically told that because we didn’t take out the extra insurance there was nothing they could do, even though we believe this to be a lack of duty of care on their part.I would not recommend Dawsons at all we had a terrible experience with all aspects of dealing with them.

I looked around for 5 months trying to find someone to send my furniture from Canberra to Perth and in the end Dawson was cheaper and so easy to deal with. I recommend highly. Trust me I have checked everywhere to move my things and being one income earner I had to shop around so I could lift my life from Canberra and head back home to Perth.
