My friend invited me and my husband last week to have lunch there because she missed yum cha. I felt sad upon reading the majority of reviews which have the same context that never been rectified, the PR of the senior staff including the owner" - it doesn’t take much effort to smile and try to speak politely; however

My partner and I went for Yum cha today and were quickly reminded why we haven't visited for 5 years.Food was of poor quality, not cooked enough (prawn dumplings), what was cooked was dry and we actually wondered if it was last nights leftovers reheated. You can taste stale frozen food.Expensive and disappointing, we should have gone to the takeaway side, at least it was fresh and hot and much cheaper.I liked the red bean sesame ball dessert and the prawn hargow was OK but skip the rest. The mixed seafood gyoza and the peanut gyoza were gross. The young female staff members were overly friendly and happy to explain dishes.

Nice place to yum chai on the northern side. Food is above average, their large portions are worth every penny, and the environment is clean and cozy. The dum sum trolley is very nice. But, pls note that they don't have many steamed dum sum options offered.

Had lunch here yesterday, delay with food & seniour staff came across as a bit grumpy or irritated but younger staff very good & polite. I overheard another group of guests complaining when leaving also saying they would not be back. I know it was busy but it has to be better organised & more polite to their guests then i witnessed on this visit.

Dined here with my in-laws on a few occasions and this was the first time experiencing this. The elderly gentleman/owner has no idea of customer service, he was incredibly rude to the lady as she was paying. After chatting to my in-laws who live nearby, they said he’s been like this ever since they first visited this restaurant (we’re talking YEARS!!!). Anyway, they said they don’t frequent this place much anymore, and I freaking understand why. All bar 1 lovely young waitress, the rest of the staff were abysmal. If you want yum cha, then go to the Landmark in chermside. I hope this message gets to the owner, it doesn’t take much effort in smiling and just being nice.

For an unforgettable Cantonese Yum Cha experience in North Brisbane, Aspley Oriental is the spot! Though not very spacious, the bustling atmosphere adds a unique charm that perfectly echoes the lively Cantonese culinary culture. The place is always alive with activity, creating an authentic and exuberant dining atmosphere. The food is a celebration of authentic Cantonese cuisine, with our family favourites being the delicious dumplings and BBQ pork buns. Even our kids can't get enough!Don't let the crowded space deter you; it’s part of the experience, bringing a vibrant taste of Canton right into Brisbane. Aspley Oriental is a top-notch, family-friendly Yum Cha destination that never disappoints. Can't wait for our next visit!

No frills and not particularly cheap, but a satisfying and tasty yum cha experience on the Brisbane Northside. Relatively limited dish selection on the carts, so order the specific extras dishes you want directly from the servers.
