Matador Whitsundays

Really one of the best experiences I've ever had. The boat 'Matador' is quite impressive as it has been a racing yacht and has been refurbished to suit guests now.The crew is an absolute blast! Mark is a very experienced captain with 42 years of experience in traveling the world, Matty really lives and loves what he's doing and Sammy was a lovely host and also responsible to feed us. What's really nice about the crew is that you can actually feel the passion they have for what they're doing and do their very best to provide us a magnificent experience. Also they did not just stick to their obligation and job but went 'the extra mile' by providing interesting stories and interacted with the guests.The tour itself was also great, we were on sea for 2 days and therefore had enough time to relax, enjoy the beautiful views, visit Whitehaven and snorkel the reef.Definetly can recommend to do this tour and would even consider doing it again myself!

AMAZING! If you want to do a Whitsundays boat trip, Matador is a fantastic choice. I did the 2 days 1 night tour and it was just great. 20 young people on the boat aged between 21 and 35. Organised, chilled crew with great stories to tell - Mark the captain is absolutely fascinating, make sure to read his book, and thanks to Alex for the great snorkelling experience. Tasty meals on the boat, with snacks in between times. BYOB for the evening time. Very social atmosphere, relaxing, and also lots of fun! 10/10

Do not book this tour. They cancelled the day before the trip without any explanation. They offered us an “upgrade” on another boat but just for 3 people. However we were 4 friends travelling together. The same happened one week before to a friend of mine. She booked Matador and they cancelled the day before. Do not trust them, there are other companies in Airlie that are amazing and really care about their customers!I gave 1 star only beacuse I could not give 0.

Great boat, fantastic crew. 2 days 1 night, much time to snorkel and see whitehaven beach. Beds comfortable. Food aboard fantastic. Unfortunately the toilet was blocked at night which caused terrible smell. Other than that great tour. Highly reccomend!

Myself and my friend did the 2 day/1 night Matador Whitsunday experience. We both have to admit that without Dave and Louis the experience would’ve fallen much shorter. Fortunately the weather on the first day was amazing and the sights at White Haven beach were incredible. The weather on the second day did come with showers but luckily we were still able to snorkel and see some coral and fish. The sleep on the boat was not the best, however, we were allowed to bring mattresses to the top deck which was cooler than being inside. The food was filling, however, the breakfast we both believe could’ve been better as all that was served was loafs of bread and some spreads, along with a bit of cereal and fruit. The lunches were wraps and sandwiches with a side salad which was filling enough to last until dinner. In the evening Dave cooked up a storm with his signature spag bol dish which was 10/10. I highly recommend for anyone travelling to bring enough water for the two days as the tap water does taste a bit funky and there isn’t huge amounts of it which we kept being reminded of by the captain so limited water available. Louis and Dave really did look after everyone and kept the place clean and ensured everyone was happy during their stay. Their entertainment and humour definitely made the trip and without them the boat would’ve been no fun. The captain unfortunately was very rude and there was a heightened tension whenever he was around, which was a shame. Overall the experience was great and we would recommend to others that the time span of the trip was enough to enjoy the Whitsundays. Amazing excursion! Everything was perfect :- the crew is lovely and very funny (thanks Dave, Maeve and Fraser)- the food is amazing : a lot of different choice. We are vegan and they’ve always cooked in a different pot for us, how lovely is that!- the activities are incredible! We’ve been to Whiteheaven beach for 3h, we’ve done 3 snorkeling spots, we saw sharks, little and big fishes, turtles, and ray! Amazing to swim with them!- we all slept together on the deck, with the stars, lovely memory!Absolutely everything was perfect, thank you so much for these amazing 2 days, I’ll never forget it!

Had such a great time on the Matador. Good group and good vibes. Got to snorkel 3 times and watch the sunset on the beach! Had a stop on whitsunday to discover the island. Overall great experience. Good food as well. The only thing I would advice people, is to bring enough water for the trip. Water isn’t the best on the boat.Recommend this cruise.

Awesome time with a an amazing crew. Snorkeling at the reef and visiting Whitehaven made me feel like being in paradise. A lot of fun in the group even when I didn't know anybody before. Dave and Louis were lovely and fun. Would strongly recommend. Thanks for the trip!

Has a fantastic time on board with Alex and Milga. It was a nice relaxed two days with a couple of snorkeling adventures and a hike up to Hill Inlet lookout and wander around Betty's beach. Saw a beautiful sunset and sunrise. Saw whales (mother and calf even), sea Eagles, mantra rays, spinner dolphins... We even got the sails up for the trip back to Airlie beach. Alex and Milga couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended!
