Smart Cuts & Color

Thier website and Google both say 5 o'clock closing time. I wrang them at 3 o'clock and confirmed they'd be able to fit my son in this afternoon. 'As long as you're here by 3:30 you'll be fine.' Well, when I arrived at 3:15. I was looked down apon by another staff member as she very rudely said 'we close at 4, you're too late'

I go to the Somerville and Mornington stores to see Jaz. She has been my hairdresser for years now and she is amazing. She has helped me with foils and colours and everytime it's amazing. I have never walked out of the unhappy. If you are looking for a great hairdresser you can go no further. Jaz will discuss want you want but also is very honest about what will work and what won't...and she will tell you it straight. I highly recommend you give her a go.

Have been going here for a couple of years now, after today will not be going back.I waited for at least an hour and a half, the whole time had to stand which ended up making me very sore. Eventually got to my turn, only to be refused service simply because I was not 'double jabbed' and one covid shot was not enough.There were no signs anywhere to advise customers of this, the people waiting in line were only told at the last minute, after waiting forever on their feet.I understand staff are only following the rules, but it is nothing short of discrimination. I left feeling very frustrated, sore and excluded.I will not be returning here and will be finding another hairdresser local that doesn't discriminate based on medical status.

I had been going to this salon for a few years. Went there recently to get my hair cut. I commented that I had thought about getting a colour, but didnt think I would have time as I was going to a wedding and had to leave that afternoon. Girl suggested that she could do it fairly quickly for me, so I agreed to stay and have it done. I wanted a brown/purple colour (which I have had before). The cut was quite good, however the coloour came out brown, but not a bit of purple, which the girl agreed had not worked. I said I wasn't really happy with the result. She said she couldn't do anything about it, but would take my number and get the Manager at head office to call me. I was away for the weekend, so didnt worry about it too much, however after a couple of weeks I still hadn't heard anything, so I rang and was given a number for head office. I spoke to Tracey (the Manager), who in no uncertain terms advised that she had no intentions of doing anything about it, stating that they were cheap. She was very short, even though I was polite and pointed out that, yes, they were cheap and I was happy with the cut, but that the hair colour did not work. She was still adamant and very unprofessional in her response. I don't know if she hung up, or whether it just disconnected. I spoke to another person after this and she said she would follow up with the Manager. She eventually sent me a message advising that the Manger had said that my hair was deemed satisfactory at time, to which I responded that how could it have been deemed satisfactory when the girl who originally did it had agreed that it hadn't worked? I have received no response. I did sent another message advising of my dissatisfaction with the response and the Manager's unprofessional behaviour. Haven't heard a thing. Very disappointing. This salon is located in Somerville.

My sister is 39 weeks pregnant and went in 10 min ago to get 2 braids I her hair prior to giving birth. Salon time says closes at 5 it was 3 10 and their where 2 men waiting for cuts the hairdresser very rudely told my sister she isn't taking anyone else and she is closing at 4. Absolutely disgraceful and disgusting service.

Lovely, friendly hairdressers who are apparently also miracle workers. After having my hair cut today I went to the bottle shop and was asked my age. Nice to have a haircut that makes you look over 10 years younger! :)

Turned away just before 4.30, no other clients in store.I understand you have to allow time for finishing up, I'd suggest advertising 4.30 close time not 5pm.

Unfortunately I’m another customer who was refused service within the advertised opening times. Asked for a trim at 4:30, no clients present, two staff members there (one cleaning, one staring at her phone), salon advertised as open til 5:00 but I was refused service. They shut up shop and left shortly after. Evidently going home early is the main priority for staff here.
