THE BIG CAMERA WEB PAGE | The only museum of photography open to the public in Australia. One of the largest private collections of cameras in the southern hemisphere. Every camera on display is fully operational. The building caught my eye and decided to do a tour. A solid and well-kept collection complimented with a thorough history talk through. Worth the stop.

We did a stop over here while driving past from Kalgoorlie to Perth. At first we thought it was just to be camera like a statue to take pictures in front of. Soon we realised that doors opens into a museum for old cameras and a lot to do with history of the town. The gentleman there seemed very passionate about everything they were in for. Unfortunately we couldn't see the museum as we landed just before 5pm which was closing time. Next time!

An incredible surprise, well worth visiting. I'm so glad I stumbled across it and Chip who is incredibly enthusiastic about the museum.4000 cameras ranging from a camera obscura to modern day and most still in working condition.I hope someone is able and willing and knowledgeable and passionate enough to take the museum and it's collection over from the owner who is wanting/needing to retire, it's an absolute gem in the wheatbelt.
