Lake Maroon Holiday Park
The ownership has changed hands and things have changed in the daily running. Personally, the new owners were nice to me, but did hover around a lot and remind us about this and that. No one was camping around us and it was nice and quiet. The first night, only the one toilet block was opened and the men showered in the ladies and the second night the other block was opened for the 'Gents', . The ladies water is gas heated and ran out , so we had to shower in the 'Gents'. Three people had to be rescued from the toilet block as they became locked in and couldn't get out, they had driven from the other camp site. I wonder what would of happened if we had not been camping nearby to let them out? Lake Maroon itself is beautiful and so are the mountains. I like to camp for the peace and quiet. This place is 'roughing it', for the city slicker, as you will have spiders and all join you in the shower. Come if you love quiet and have your own gear. Using the public boat ramp is the easiest access to the dam, as it is a little muddy to launch off the' Lake Maroon Holiday Park', bank if you are not prepared. A better name would be Lake Maroon camp grounds, I would not call it a caravan park, but a bush camp ground. I was there for bush camping and boating. Safety issues, are opening the gates from the dam side of the park if you have a boat and trailer, as the gate is placed too close to the road, alongside a steep hill with no where to safely stop and park to open or close the gate. The amenities block, locks people in and they can't get out. Most camp sites are on a slight incline, which I think is handy to know for your camp set up.

Vista view has a great outlook over the land to the dam, not busy and friendly staff, spacious camp sites.

The new managers are absolutely lovely people and made us feel welcome. The whole atmosphere has changed since they took over and we will be back for sure.

2018 - New Owners!! Awesome place to escape modern woes. I can't wait to see the vision that the new owners have installed for this place.

Dropped in with plans to stay on our next trip. It is such a pretty place. Well the manager cut our conversation short and was incredibly rude. Not going back.

Good news, it is now under new management. Met the new owners on the weekend and they are very friendly, lots of ideas lots of vision. I can see some big changes coming. Well worth giving it a second chance.

We are regular visitors to Lake Maroon. The changes that the new owners have done in such a short time is amazing. Extremely friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to our next visit.

Beautiful camp grounds.Very spacious. It's great not having to camp on top of another tent. We enjoy our stay there.
