Would be great views if you are able to actually get to it. The quiet viewing spot next to it is a great spot to relax unwind and watch the queenscliff / sorrento ferry cross between ports.

Interesting stop, but we couldn't get up close which was disappointing.

Fabulous location on the entrance to Melbourne bay. The rip tides and currents can make navigation difficult as the isthmus is only two and half miles wide with a designated shipping lane and remember this is the busiest shipping lane in Australia. I believe the port of Melbourne accounts for 80% of all containers entering the country so strategically speaking this is an important structure although it has probably been superseded by more modern means

Fort Queenscliff - interesting place. The tour was very limited and disappointing . Apart from a look at the magazine none of the buildings were open for viewing. The tour guide gave a few historic stories and a lot of stories of her family.

A quick getaway about an hours drive if you live in the west. What you get there is a smallish beach, a walk near the light house, a nice and super clean pier, a children's park and there are couple of restaurant nearby. The light house is strictly not accessible as it is part of the army's infra but you get to see it from a distance. There is ample parking and enough seating to have a nice time for your family.

Could only view from outside the fort. We were not allowed to walk and look at the lighthouse as the fort was closed and apparently we would have to pay for a tour we didn't want.
