Fine dinning breakkie. Both food and coffee were so good, and the atmosphere was so chill. You have a small cozy coffee shop looking out to the beach, with some beanbags outside for a sunny day. Check out their specials. Highly recommended.

Beautiful cafe with delicious brunch food, and probably the best banana cake I’ve had.The toast with butter, avocado and poached eggs was simple brunch food done well. It helped that the avocado was fresh and creamy. The coffee was smooth and lovely too.But the highlight of the meal has to be the banana cake. This is the banana cake of my dreams. It had the perfect texture - crispy on the outside, dense and moist on the inside - and was scrumptious. I will definitely stop by to have this banana cake the next time I’m around the area.

Delicious. Great food, great people and great vibe. The only thing letting this place down is the bean. It’s good but could be great. The barista knows what she’s doing but there is only so much you can do with that quality of bean. But I’m being critical, most people wouldn’t know. The coldbrew comes pre sweetened with brown sugar which is very unusual for cold brew. Otherwise we also had the brewed chai and that was perfect. normally chai has no flavour as most cafe’s don’t know how to make chai properly. This place knows what’s up. Great staff too. I’ll be back.

Espresso is delicious, light and slightly sweet with a nice amount of crema. We’ve been 2 days in a row and the food has been amazing. Big Breakfast was huge and full of fresh items, and the Lemon & Ricotta Pancakes were unreal. Everything came out really fast and the staff are super friendly!

Great little cafe opposite the beach in Tathra. The service was quick and the food was very good. A bit pricey with the 15% public holiday surcharge, but still worth the visit. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Most outdoor seating has umbrellas and dogs are welcome.

Best breakfast I’ve had out in months! The food was just superb. I had the panacotta and it was perfect. I’ve been there many times over the years and have never been disappointed. It was the first time I had taken my partner and he also loved it.

March 2023: Wild Orchid Tathra is Tathra’s it-cafe. Across the road from the town’s beautiful white sand beach, it employs sandy blonde wood and fishing basket lights to create a natural yet minimalist space. It’s well-patronised during daylight hours, with coffee service kicking off just as pale yellow light paints the outdoor umbrellas golden. Wild Rye's coffee beans, roasted down the road in Pambula, go alright in a cappuccino ($4.50) or a double shot flat white ($5). There’s also a good range of alternatives—from almond smoothies to chai and freshly squeezed apple, carrot, ginger and orange juice ($9)—to tide early risers over until 7.30am when you can order food.To my palate the menu—which tends toward healthy, simple food—performs better at lunch than breakfast. A pair of “Korean” pork skewers ($24) sit on lightly seasoned white rice and undressed wombok under sticky Korean chilli sauce, sesame seeds and an apple and cucumber pickle. Earlier in the day, “Turkish” eggs ($18) sit on dill yoghurt with chilli butter, flatbread and a dusting of dukkah. Bacon ($3) makes them more substantial. You can also add it to sourdough toast ($7.50) and not quite set fried eggs ($3/each) to build your own breakfast. The locals clearly love this place, and are all greeted by name at the counter.March 2032: Despite the floral name, there’s a minimalist, industrial feel to Wild Orchid Tathra, with corten steel weathering nicely on the bar and smooth concrete below your sandy feet and overhead. The effect is softened with comfy brown leather banquettes, bamboo fishing basket lights, and wooden framed sliding windows that help the cafe adapt to whatever weather the neighbouring Tathra beach is throwing at them. Colour comes in the range of healthy treats, like raw caramel bars, and shelves of take-home products running from hemp oil to raw honey.Their chosen Wild Rye coffee roasted in neighbouring Pambula has a liquorice edge in a strong cappuccino ($4.50) and a strong flat white ($4.50), both executed with the bitterness in balance. Avocado feta ($15) plucked from the short all-day menu adds pepitas, scarce chilli flakes and black sesame with an over-crisp side of bacon ($3) to slightly-too-thick sourdough toast.Struck by the curse of the cold plate, the only thing wrong with the smoked ocean trout ($19) was temperature. This dish piles a good amount of smoked ocean trout and smashed avocado on an airy potato rösti under a fluffy mop of dill. It’s accompanied by a poached egg and a smear of tangy caper and dill mayo. Best bit about this venue is, as soon as you finish breakfast, you can cross the road and you’re right on Tathra beach.

Initial thoughts were that this cafe was very cute and had lovely seating.Food menu was a little limited, our bacon and egg rolls were good but the smoothie was not great and very overpriced.Service could definitely be improved - at points it was unhelpful and borderline rude. Staff and people contributed to an uncomfortable vibe which lead to us leaving.Tables could use a wipe - it was around lunch so it could’ve been busy but a couple tables were sticky/not cleaned.

Great place! Cute outdoor seating options and inside is also very nice. The açai bowl was perfect! Tasty granola clusters, perfect açai consistency and good fruit mix. The salami toastie was so delicious! Smoothie was also good as well as the service.
