Good & Bad of Coomera Clothing alterations (CCA):Offered to try to resolve the issue they caused.Cut through the middle of the focal point lace applique at the bottom centre of the dress; Did not communicate any changes being made to the agreed upon alterations; Did not offer any discounts for the irreversible issues caused.After looking at reviews and quotes from other companies, CCA appeared to be a good option with location close to me, pricing & good reviews. I made my appointment online and my first appointment went smoothly. Put my dress on and explained what I was wanting for the dress. This included having the straps shortened, the hem brought up (including going around the lace patterns to keep the design) and to add some lace applique to the dress from extra matching lace I had purchased from the dress maker. Once all this had been measured and confirmed, I was advised a date for collection and a quote. Once the dress was ready I received a text message and a request to make a booking online to collect. On collection, the straps fitted well, the appliques were added, however, the devastating sight was that the large symmetrical lace detailing on the bottom centre of the dress had been cut right through the middle! At the sides of the dress the lace had been cut to shape as agreed, but not at the front. The cut through lace applique was also left with no stitched edge, causing the potential to fray. This put me into a state of complete shock to see the dress I had taken so long to find and paid thousands of dollars for to be butchered right at a focal point. To say it was devastating for me is an understatement! Through my shock we tried to come to a way of somewhat rectifying this. Which unfortunately came down to using the lace I had paid extra for to add onto the dress base to replace the cut up lace. However, this left very little lace for my veil and it would no longer have a symmetrical design on the dress. CCA provided some of their lace that I could add to my veil. This was a similar colour but not the same styling, however, it could never be what was envisioned to match the dress design. CCA then said they would text an image of the applique once pinned with the applique design for my approval and have the dress ready in a few days. The first text I received was 2 days later after 10pm. I replied asking for one small applique to be added in an unfilled area, then received another image 30 min later and kindly asked if 1 small applique could be moved and another removed so that the dress could have as close as possible matching design on each side. For this I was replied to with an image and text pointing out how the area above the area being worked on did not have a matching design anyway, (which felt like I was basically being flipped off). Eventually the request I had asked for was completed. I was advised the next afternoon that the dress was ready and to make another appointment online. At the last appointment, although the lace was not like it started originally with a symmetrical design, it was better than the cut through lace! What disappointed me further, I was then asked to pay the full quoted amount. Although I understand that more work was put into the dress, CCA’s was at fault by not following my initial request and changing my dream dress design. Being a business owner myself, I would have taken the financial hit for my mistake and given the customer as much care as possible after messing up a valuable item of theirs. My disappointment to CCA was responded to by how many hours they put into repairing their mistake, as well as in CCA's opinion the hem would have been to long, which is why they cut it in half without asking. The hem height and lace issue" was never communicated to me
