Wanted something different and apart from a brief outline I left the shape with Ricky. To say I was impressed with the outcome is an understatement. Price, quality and performance are outstanding. Love that I can support a local who creates world class boards.Update: between my daughter and me we have now had 12 RYPL boards. No breaks, minimal depressions and many barrels. Quality craftsmanship and materials. We have had everything from performance thrusters, twin fins, single fins, performance longboards and logs. All were above expectation. I cannot rate Ricky and RYPL boards highly enough.

the board i got off Ricky looked amazing with the design on it. took it out for the first ever ride and it could not have performed better. the board itself just flowed wherever i wanted to go and could generate so much speed with one bottom turn.

After trying every major surf board brand in Aus I stumbled across Ricky's boards on facebook and decided to order one to test it out. He uses the same materials as the bigger manufacturers and shapes boards to however you want for less than what you would pay at the shop. I loved my board so much I ordered another 3. Took them all too indo and they all survived. Awesome boards that will last.

Top quality boards from a knowledgeable shaper. Hands down the best shorty I've ridden (lp2 model). Noosa local gives all the big Gold Coast shapers a run and could not be happier with my board. Ricky is a great guy and helped me with the design and dimensions and was spot on. I will be buying all my boards from him from now on!

Awesome surfboards and a quality glass job! Great shapes that really do work. I have the Spartan and it goes so good, holds speed down the line and is lightweight so helps me turn with ease.

Ricky was outstanding to deal with and the final product was beyond what I was expecting. I have had boards made before, however, dealt with the casual board shaper who would go MIA for days while the surf was up. This was not the case with Ricky, I could not fault his process one bit, from designing the board and picking colours to updating me through the make. Could not recommend him enough to anyone and I absolutely love the board!!

When I was first looking for a board to order I was going to order through Lost Surfboards for a V3 Rocket at hole sale through my work. I wan't sure what I needed for my hight, weight and surfing level. I knew I wanted an all rounder and better turns on my cut back. When I spoke to Ricky he filled my brain with so much knowledge about surf boards I never knew about. He had a look at the current board I was riding and then shaped me a V3 Rocket so that the dimensions were custom for my skill level and wants. The board has a lot of drive, an all rounder and great for paddling onto 1-4ft waves. It's a gun and I get soo much more speed and snap a lot faster on my cut back. The marble glassing is just biblical it's better than I imagined. I got exactly what I wanted and I recommended RYPL to my friends because how much of a stoke I get every time I get to pull my new stick out of my board bag!
