FYI if you’re planning on eating popcorn with your movie, don’t go here in the next few days - their machine is broken and they don’t know when it will be fixed. I had high hopes for this cinema as I love Brisbane-located Dendy’s and have been going to them for years, but each time I go here to the Southport one there is a problem. Disappointed again. Going to Event Cinemas next time.

This cinema is so… awkward. It was a ghost town when we arrived on Saturday night, with the foyer being so quiet that it felt illegal to be there. Staff were nice enough but so quiet and reluctant to help. The seats inside were new and clean but so insanely upright, with no option to recline I felt so uncomfortable in the chair. Thank god the tickets were only $8, anything more would of felt like theft. It felt like I was in the twilight zone the entire time.. and left with an uncomfy feeling due to the overall experience.

Clean, quiet, private and affordable. What more can I ask for in a cinema. Staffs are friendly, seatings are comfortable and the membership is a great value. Haven't been back to event cinema since this one has opened. Also the film selections are fantastic as they often have sessions for older films you may have missed watching at the cinema.

Interesting selection of movies but the seats are horrible for people under 180. Tilted straight up, no recline, and pushes your head to tilt forwards. But you then have you strain your eyes upwards to see the movie from anywhere but the back row. By the end of the 2 hour movie I ended up on a diagonal and a headache. It's right next to my house but I won't be going back unless they ever change the seats

Lovely small cinema with affordable prices and weekly discounted nights. The staff is always happy to help and are very welcoming. We like to come back regularly although we have moved further away from Southport.

Love having a local Dendy. Have been many times since opening. Unfortunately seems all cinemas have the same incline to their chairs. While beautifully padded the upright back of the chair makes it a challenge to keep returning. 2 stars off for the ridiculously uncomfortable chairs.

Beaut New Cinema’s Located in Southport. In the New Shopping Complex between Queen Street & Nerang Street.Great Looking Cinema With Comfy Seats. Smaller than Some other Cinemas. You Feel like You’re Closer to the Action and it’s Easier to Find Your Seat.Only Gripe, The Large Popcorn Box Needs to be Redesigned. The Popcorn Just Falls Out From The Bottom of the Box !!Just a Warning Too, Parking Fees Are Stupid Expensive at This New Shopping Complex.

Never even knew this cinema existed until I got a promotional voucher in the mail last week. I love this cinema! This will be the only one I go to on the Gold Coast moving forward. I went with my 2 kids to see Mario bros today. The guy at the counter today was so friendly. The tickets are probably the cheapest I’ve seen on the Gold Coast and the candy bar is reasonably priced too. The seats were comfy with a soft material. I also prefer the smaller cinema room size As it just feels cosy. The popcorn was perfectly salty. Honestly, I can’t fault this cinema. I have already started recommending it to others since my visit on 13th April. Looks like a few new restaurants opening up around it too with all different cuisines. Can’t wait to take my partner for a date night sometime soon with dinner and a movie. Keep up the great work!

I always loved this cinema. Feels very private and relaxing to watch movies here. Staff are friendly and helpful all the time. Will always be my #1 go to.Unfortunately on my recent visits, it seems that some cinema rooms are not well maintained. Trash are left there after the previous movie and the place smells a bit musty. It wasn't like this before. Hopefully, they can do something about this cos I love going there.

The Gold Coast's newest and (dare I say it) Queensland's premier independent film and art house cinema at Queen Street Village.Small, personal and beautifully appointed cinemas.Very reasonably priced with a fantastic range of films.
